My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sophie: 4 yr old female black and brown Norwegian Forest Cat

March Update: She is now known as : Sophie The Smiling Kitty
This is such a nice goodnatured, little kitty and she looks like she is smiling at you all the time. Her cobby body and big coat plus a few extra ounces give her such a classic little dumpling look. Look at the huge ruff she has around her neck. I am not sure I have ever seen a more splendid one. She really is beautiful.Such a beautiful face.

As I have gotten to know her better I have come to realize what an obliging, sweet tempered kitty she is. She will make someone such a very entertaining, loving companion. When you look at her you cannot help but smile. And she looks as though she is smiling back.

Such beautiful green eyes she has. Luminous green eyes. Norwegian Forest Cats are known for their wooly thick coat and their extra long ruff as you can see she has around her neck. Sophie is a little plump and cuddles nice and solid in your arms. She is not a long bodied cat like a Maine Coon but true to her breed she has a stocky body style called "square". She is great fun.

She came from a shelter, owner surrendered, no reason given. She has clearly been well cared for and is in good health and body condition.
She is such a love bug someone must have loved her up before they probably reluctantly gave her up. She is a bit quiet after her shelter ordeal and still a little depressed, I think. She responds very sweetly and gratefully to attention. Sophie is a patient, friendly cat who likes attention but is not clingy or demanding. This is not a high strung , vocal, pushy kind of cat. Rather she is an easy family cat and probably good with gentle children.LIke Maine Coons she is very intelligent and inquisitive.

I think she is cat friendly.I don't know how she is with dogs though I would guess she would be fine. This goodhearted girl will make some lucky person a wonderful companion.

She eats wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect.

More photos soon.

Her foster mom is Harriet in Santa Cruz.
