MAX, a delicious combination of Plott Hound/Pit Bull mix, is in need of a foster or adopter. This 2 year old sweetheart developed quite the fan club at the city shelter. Here is what 2 of his many admirers had to say about MAX: “ There is no question that I was the best dressed girl in the park yesterday - why? Because I had the most handsome escort, Max, by my side. Max is a stunning brindle boy in a gleaming black and orange brindle coat. Gorgeous! His weight is perfect for his size; he appears to have been a well taken care of boy before joining us as a stray. As I was leashing Max he was kissing my hands so I knew that he and I would get along just great - and we did! Max seems housetrained, taking care of business as soon as we were outside. He pulls on the leash but is manageable and responds to correction. He sits on command, takes treats very gently and posed for his photos like the rock star he is. His tail wagged with interest at other dogs, but his favorite thing to do is to give his human friend hugs and kisses. I was so happy to oblige. Max received many admiring glances as we walked and I found myself standing taller, straightening my clothes, and wishing I had dressed better for the occasion! Max is a delight, waiting to kiss the hands of his new BFF.” and.... ”A volunteer writes: When I first met Max was I just knew something was different/special about him! Amidst all the barking and chaos in the ward, Max laying perfectly composed like a gentleman on his bed peering up at me with quiet interest with his kennel in immaculate perfect order. Are you looking for a dog that is majestic, and exceedingly polite? Well, look no further as Max is your man. Out on our walk Max exhibits all the hallmarks of being a well balanced family pet at one time: he seems housetrained going immediately, on leash he is responsive to me looking up at me with his gorgeous eyes for approval, and he greeted several dogs with soft body language/tail wags that we encountered. I was so captivated by him I spent extra time with him in the backyard, and I learned that in addition to being well behaved, he is very loving and affectionate. Max is totally captivating, and I fell in love with him. Come and meet this noble guy and be prepared to have him capture your heart as he did mine.” Max is staying at Acorn Valley Kennels in PA, and will be neutered soon, has all his shots and is micro chipped.
