My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet sweet little Shelly, a dainty girl that melts in your arms! Shelly is about six years old and weighs about 7 lbs. Shelly is very silly and playful and just generally excited to have someone pay attention to her. She seems to be smiling all the time and often the tip of her little pink tongue is visible. Even when she is resting her tail will wag if she sees you glance in her direction. She gets along with other dogs although she is very tiny and gets overwhelmed easily. She likes toys best when a human is playing too. If you are busy she is quiet and content to lay down near you and watch what you're doing. She is very well behaved and seems to be on a regular schedule for relieving herself. In her foster home Shelly was exposed briefly to a kitty but she didn't seem to know what it was or how to interact with it. Initially she tried kissing the cat and when that didn't work she began barking at it so we can't really say that she is good with cats. We can't imagine how Shelly ended up without a family to call her own but she is precious. Due to her size, she is fragile and should not go to a home with small children. Shelly also has suffered a broken leg at some point in her life and the leg was never properly attended to. Now her leg has healed in an unnatural fashion and her leg is very fragile. Shelly's family will need to keep her safe from furhter injury and should be in a home without children or other rambunctious pets. Shelly is spayed, up to date on all vaccines including rabies and is microchipped. Please email stmartinsanimalrescue@hotmail.com if you would like to make Shelly a part of your family.
