Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Nice to meet you! Petunia here –my friends call me “Tuna”. I’m about 3 years young, I think….I may have lost track of a year or two. I’m a puppy mill survivor, and I’m doing my best to forget all about that place.
Lucky for me, I am now in a foster home with two bully foster sisters, who are teaching me about life as a companion dog. I am starting to get the hang of it - I already have a favorite spot on the couch! My second favorite spot is my crate, sometimes I get scared of people or lots of activity and I run in there to feel safe – sometimes I just hang out in there because it’s comfy.
I’m new to this whole world you live in, so I like to have some extra wiggle room when I’m trying something new – like stairs, walking on a leash, meeting new people, eating from my bowl, and walking out in public. I’m not impolite by any means; I just lay down and sometimes cower a little bit – I’m just nervous. Eventually, I’ll get used to those things – but for now, I’ll do whatever it is I need to if you’ll just give me a little bit of space. However, if you’re holding my eye drops or my pills wrapped in something delicious- I will politely take them, those are important to me and I’m getting used to the routine of taking them.
Know what I got used to quickly? Cuddles. I will cuddle with anyone who wants to sit down with me – especially my bully foster sisters and my foster mom. I also like watching TV, I am most attentive when watching the military channel (my foster grandpa introduced me to that)! But don’t worry- I also like watching sports, drama, comedies and even reality TV, I don’t discriminate.
I’m not all about being a couch potato though – I like being outside too. Heck, if you leave the door open for me- I’ll let myself out! My foster mom thinks I’m part goat – I’m always looking to eat grass (nervous habit- I’m trying to quit!).
If I had to pick my perfect home, I’d pick a home where I can have company most of the time. I like the car, so I’d be happy to travel with you if you're looking for a co-pilot!.
Hope to hear from ya soon!
