My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Charlie is located in NE IA and is being fostered by K9 for Kindness. The adoption process includes getting to know the potential adopter(s) through meetings, a home visit, and other reference checking. To view more information and/or fill out an application, please visit:

If you have questions about Charlie, please get in touch with Taylor (contact information below):

Charlie seems to have lost a family who is not looking for him. He had a belly full of worms and some ticks hanging on, and a neighbor said that he was running loose for 3 months. He is only about 6 - 8 months old now. However, he is confident and does not show signs of having been abused. Charlie is definitely well-suited to a family, especially one who likes the outdoors. If I had the room and a pack that would allow me to merge another dog in, he would stay. This dog is service-trainable. He is neutered, house-trained, loves kids, and is good with cats and other dogs.

Charlie loves the water and stalking birds and squirrels. He walks well on a leash and is learning to play tug and fetch. He's not much for catching yet, but he is a silly puppy who likes to fetch and retrieve toys. Charlie has a howling bark, but he does not use it often. He is a medium-low energy level dog, but he is still a puppy and, if not properly stimulated or left alone for long stretches, he will get bored and chew.

Charlie has been on several visits to a nursing home and does wonderfully. He weighs about 60 lbs now and has some significant feet to grow into. His adult weight is likely to be between 80 and 95 lbs.
