My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please meet Fassa’s Friend Napo.
What a happy, fun-loving fellow! Everyone that meets this guy, just loves him! He is a pleasure to watch and is very sweet indeed! He’s a silly goofball for sure! He is treat motivated therefore teaching him basic commands would not be an issue. Napo will not jump a fence. He is approximately 5 years old and in great health. He is current on vaccines and has been successfully treated for heart worm! He has also been neutered. He loves everyone and is good with other dogs. For more information about Napo read below. This guy needs a great home interested in a great dog that will keep you laughing! Napo is ready to explore his new life on the “mainland” and is looking for a great home to explore with him!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Napo is a purebred, 5 year old male Boxer. Napo is current on his vaccines and has been neutered. Fassa’s Friends (FFBR) first heard of Napo during the first week of May 2013. FFBR was contacted by Eric, Stray from the Heart Rescue in New York. Eric shared with us the plight of the dogs on the island of Puerto Rico. There are approximately 200,000 stray/homeless dogs on the Island of Puerto Rico. Stray from the heart has a donor that donates spay and neuter days in Puerto Rico, however they are met with some resistance Due to cultural differences regarding spaying and neutering, most of the strays are still intact, fathering and producing litter after litter of puppies, compounding an already extremely serious problem. The majority of the Island dogs are starving to death. From what we’ve learned, it is a dog lovers nightmare to drive down the streets of Puerto Rico only to look out of your window to see highly adoptable dogs starving! We couldn’t turn our backs on Puerto Rico’s Stray dog need for assistance. Stray from the Heart will be flying Napo to us, hopefully 5/19/13.

We have been informed Napo is socialized and very friendly with other dogs. It is our understanding that most all dogs living in Puerto Rico, live as outside dogs. Napo will therefore be fostered by one of FFBR’s officers so that his level of house manners/housebreaking can be evaluated and addressed if need be. The arrival of Napo into Fassa’s Friends Rescue marks the beginning of our assistance to those starving hundreds of thousands of Island Dogs! We will keep you updated on Napo’s manners and progress as we learn more about him. If you think you may be a match for Napo, please visit our website: www.fassasfriendsboxerrescue.com to complete an adoption application found under the Adoption Tab at the top of our homepage. If you are a pre-approved home, please simply email us at fassasfriends@gmail.com and we will gladly set up a meet and greet.
