Tyler is in a foster-to-adopt situation!



Tyler is a shy boy who immediately caught the eye of NLOL intake directors on a recent trip to Animal Care and Control. This little guy had been given up by his owner on Friday, and because of his extreme shyness was slated to be euthanized on Saturday. Unfortunately ACC just does not have the resources to work with debilitatingly shy dogs like Tyler, so that's where rescue groups come in - and we were happy to help. Once we were able to get Tyler out of his cage (a several minute process) we knew that he was destined to become an NLOL dog. His big liquid brown eyes pleaded for our help, and we were happy to comply.


This puppy was kept as an outdoor dog for his entire six month life, and because of that he is very unsure of himself around people. He warms up eventually, and is not aggressive in the slightest - just scared of everything! He has a tendency when walking to lean heavily against his handler's legs and stick his head between their knees as if to hide from everything. Poor little ostrich boy!


One big help for Tyler's shyness is other dogs - he came from a home with other dogs and he lights up around them. Suddenly his tail comes up from between his legs and he loosens up considerably, and then he plays! To this end, we would like to find Tyler a foster home with at least one other dog, and it would be even better if his foster parent could take him to one of NLOL's two partner daycare facilities (on us, of course.) We would also like to enroll him and his foster parent in our School's For The Dogs training class when it starts back up again to help him build confidence and learn that the world is not such a scary place!
