My story

Rusty is a 1-2 year old Boxer / Golden Retriever Mix. Rusty is a well rounded, gentle and friendly boy. He greets new people and dogs with his calm demeanor and a wag of the tail. He is a quiet dog who loves a good romp with his buddies at the POA kennel. Rusty has become a volunteer favorite from the get go with his loving personality. Rusty is ready to become part of a family and will do best in a home that is willing to include him as part of the daily activities. Rusty will need daily walks and playtime for exercise. Rusty is fine with cats. Kids 8 and up. For more information about Rusty please email Mindy at melindasueb@hotmail.com.

Why adoption is a great option

Rusty, a East Hartford Boxer/Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer/Golden Retriever for sale in East Hartford, or seeking a Boxer/Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in East Hartford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in East Hartford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a East Hartford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer/Golden Retriever breeders who help with Boxer/Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in East Hartford paves the way for another one to be saved.
