Sweet Pea is a petite, beautiful female Weim of about 1 1/2 yrs old. She is a purebred Weimaraner. She is currently being fostered with several other dogs, and gets along well with all of them, young and old, big and small!
Sweet Pea came to us when she was surrendered to a high kill shelter in the Los Angeles area. Even though she is very young, it appears as though she has already had a litter of pups. She is only about 45 lbs, so she is dainty and darling! She loves people and does well even with large groups of people. She is a true snuggler and even though she came from a home where she apparently lived outdoors, she is making up for it now by giving and getting all the love that she possibly can!
Like most young Weimaraners, Sweet Pea will do best in a home where someone is home most of the time. She is not a dog who can be left alone for hours and hours. Sweet Pea is a youngster and athletic so she will also need regular walks and trips to the dog park or dog beach, and really needs at least one canine playmate, so she can wrestle and play and wear herself out! She loves to chase birds at the park, and is so fast that she has come very close to catching one! She rides very well in a car and is also good on a leash. She has good recall and does not run off when off leash, she comes right back when called. She is being fostered with a cat, and has shown no interest at all so she is a good choice for a home with a kitty.
Sweet Pea will need a lot of love and reassurance as she adjusts to a new home. It would be ideal if someone was home with her most of the time, as Weims just don't like to be alone! She would love a home where she could be with her people and spend a lot of time getting to know her new family.
