My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATED BIO 08/02/2013: Chloe is 10 years young and weighs a chubby 11 lbs (she would be a healthier weight if she lost a couple of pounds); she is currently being fostered in The Villages, FL.

Chloe has been in her foster home about two months and Foster Mom has learned a lot about her. Chloe is hearing impaired; but on the positive side, she never barks or gets scared during Florida’s daily summer thunderstorms, and she won’t bark when someone comes to the door.

Chloe knows how to get FM's attention when she wants something. Many hearing-impaired dogs will bark for attention, which isn’t such a great trait, but Chloe only barks when she wants something. Chloe truly lives a dog’s life – her typical day goes like this……

- She wakes up in the morning and goes right to the door and barks to go out

- After going out and doing her business, she goes into the kitchen and barks to let FM know she’s hungry.

- After eating, she will then bark to be put on the couch near FM and take a very long nap.

- After naptime, FM takes her off the couch, she gets a drink of water and starts her routine all over again. Chloe only barks to let FM know which one of those three things she wants: food, potty or nap ~ isn’t she smart?

Chloe is housetrained to go out, but may have accidents if left home alone. Chloe is a healthy girlie; she had several tests to rule out any medical issues. She loves to go for rides in the car. Chloe’s perfect home would be one in which there was at least one stay-at-home parent since she loves to be with her person.

Please don’t turn away from Chloe because of her age; she still has a lot of love and happiness to give to someone and she deserves a forever home that she will never ever have to leave. She has had several homes in her lifetime, and she deserves a true FURever home with someone who will love her just the way she is. Could that someone be you?

UPDATED BIO 6/13/13: Hello I am Chloe, a 10 year old 10 pound yorkie girl who is being fostered in Delray Beach, Florida. I was surrendered by my owner who could no longer give me the care I needed. Actually, when I was surrendered, they told the UYR lady they didn't really like me too much.

I am new in my foster home having only been here two days. I was too lonely in my other foster home as my FM and FD are not home enough for me. My new foster mom is almost always home, and I like her a lot.

I have pancreatitis but it is being controlled with a special diet for the moment. I will always need to eat very low fat foods. If you like to sneak table food to your pups, I am not the one for you..... in fact it isn't really good for any of us, you know?

I am a very quiet girl and am mostly house trained. I go outside or use a wee wee pad. I have had a few accidents here but as soon as I am used to being here I know I will be better at it. I am very quiet except when I want to eat. Then I bark at FM and she feeds me.

I would like a relaxed home with someone I can be with most of the day. I travel well in the car and would love to go everywhere with you.

I had my dental and all my toofers are clean except the four I lost.

-- My routine right now is this: I wake up and go potty then I bark to have breakfast and then I sleep very soundly for a couple of hours. Then I get up and go potty and bark to be fed and sleep for a few more hours LOL

I was sleeping in a crate but foster mom gave me a bath and now I sleep on the bed with her. I will get off the bed if I need to potty and usually hit that wee wee pad.

If you are looking for a sweet, maybe hard of hearing, lazy dog, I am the one for you. I am working on being cuddly because FM always picks me up and kisses me. I don't kiss her back yet but I put up with her affection.

The other dogs in the house accept me and I love to meet new dogs on my walks with FM My tail wags and I go right up to them.

UPDATED BIO 04/14/2013: Chloe is 10 years young and weighs a chubby 10 lbs (she would be a healthier weight if she was about 8-9 lbs); she is currently being fostered in Davie, FL.

Chloe went to the vet recently for a full exam and bloodwork. Because Chloe has diarrhea, she was unable to receive updated vaccinations, and will be on an antibiotic for a week. Her mouth is horrible, with a growth on the side which was biopsied today. She will likely loose all her teeth since they are in terrible shape. Her hair is very thin, which could be food-related, or allergy-related, or perhaps some other reason. This little princess really needs a loving home where she will be treated with nothing but kisses and kindness.

INITIAL BIO 04/12/2013: MEET CHLOE! Chloe is 10 years young and weighs a chubby 10 lbs; she is currently being fostered in Davie, FL. Chloe's owner was unable to care for her any longer, and contacted UYR to find a forever home for her. Chloe has had more than one owner, but she is a very, very sweet little yorkie girlie who needs someone to boost her confidence and show her how much she is loved. She is housetrained and signals when she needs to go outside; she also gets along with other dogs.

Chloe is very timid and shy, but we think this is because she was not played with a lot or received much attention in her previous home. She sort of keeps to herself and loves to lie in her little bed and nap. This is common with a new foster dog, entering new surroundings, with new smells and other dogs. Chloe's perfect home would be one with a fenced-in yard since she loves to chase squirrels and ducks and lie in the sun. She may prefer to be the only Princess in the home. Chloe hasn't received a lot of attention in her life and has so much love to give. Do you have room in your home for this darling little girlie?

She will see the vet tomorrow to have a full medical work-up - so please watch for an update on Chloe.
