WE ARE A SMALL RESCUE, OVERWHELMED BY THE NUMBER OF DOGS WE HAVE IN OUR FOSTER PROGRAM AND ARE UNABLE TO ANSWER OR CALL UNTIL WE HAVE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION.
Meet Duke, a 4 year old owner surrender to a Columbus, GA shelter. Duke was originally rescued by a respected all breed rescue in Columbus but they quickly learned that Duke most likely needed to be cared for by a breed specific rescue who was used to dealing with Bulldog ailments

Duke had a small tumor on his left front leg that has been removed, he has also been treated for heartworm. Duke was just released into foster care and is undergoing evaluation by his foster parents. Duke does seem to be a bit obsessed with toys and resource guards occasionally if he feels a threat to his toys. Otherwise he seems to get along with the other dog in the foster home and is curious of their cat. He will be evaluated by a canine behaviorist soon in an attempt to curtail his resource guarding. Many of the dogs we bring in have NEVER had any resources, so when they are presented with new situations(toys) will become a bit over zealous trying to protect what they prize..
