My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Update 08/11/13: Arizona and Wisconsin, it's Sawyer! I'm only 9 years old and weigh a trim 7.1 pounds. That's all for me, Foster mom is going to write tonight.

Sawyer has to be one of the sweetest little boys out there. When he gives me those endearing eyes, my heart just melts...he is one of those special gifts that come along "once in a lifetime," for that person with a caring soul. It just might be that special person hasn't come across Sawyer...

Please continue reading the rest of Sawyer's previous bios...they are very important.

Any questions on cost of his medication, talk to your veterinarian, he/she will be able to give you the correct cost. His medication is: Enalapril - one 2.5 mg once a day, and Lasix (furosemide) 12.5 mg pill, 1/2 twice a day. Your vet will understand.

Update 07/19/13? Hi, it's me Sawyer! I am a very happy, loving, cuddly 7.3 lb., 9 year old little guy. By now, everyone should know me...I've been waiting 8 months for my Forever Home. :-(

I have an enlarged heart, but that doesn't mean I don't have several loving years to spend with you! And just like people, one never knows how long our life will be. I am on two medications...one is Enalapril...this helps widen the blood vessels to the heart, and lowers the blood pressure, so my heart doesn't have to work so hard. The other is Lasix (or furosemide). This helps eliminate any fluid build up around my heart.

**The two medications used together can increase the quality of life for a dog or cat in heart failure but it is not known whether the pet's life can actually be prolonged by using the enalapril and furosemide together.**

"Please think of the wonderful years someone like you could give me...I would be Forever Blessed..."

The Lasix makes me urinate more, so Foster Mom uses a belly band, with a Generic Brand of Poise Pad. This works Great!! If she is with me, and we are laying down watching T.V or reading, she leaves it off. If I need to go outside, I will get up. If cleaning up some potty doesn't upset you, Please, Please, Please fill out an application!

I am good with children, of at least 7 years old, who have been with small dogs before. FM's 8 year old grandson picks me up all the time, and I cuddle with him. I sleep at the end of Foster Mom's bed at night, but I've been sleeping closer lately. I have been really cuddly, playing with FM's other dogs, I love to be outside, but with the heat & humidity we don't stay out.

My Foster Mom and I are in WI, but I am listed under Arizona, because I hoping someone who is retired, works from their home, or maybe works a few days a week will want me to love. I would love another doggy to cuddle with, big or small. If you live in WI, please still fill out an application if I am what you have been looking for.

If you live in Arizona, you don't have to come here to get me, Foster Mom will go there. Her son is there, so she flys all the time. I've been there already too!! Almost had the doggy door all figured out just before we flew back to WI!! :-)

Tails Wags!
Sawyer

Updated Bio 05/16/13: Sawyer is a very handsome, 7.5 lb, 9 year old yorkie. He is as sweet as can be! Sawyer had a dental on 05/07/13, and he came thru his it with flying colors!! He lost 2 back teeth, and has grade 3 periodontal disease, so he will need two go in "at least" once a year for a cleaning, or he will end up losing more teeth. Brushing his teeth would also be very beneficial.

I'm trying to come to an understanding, why Sawyer has not received any applications. Yes, he does have an enlarged heart, but he is doing great, and loves to go places and be outside!

He loves other dogs, and definitely would want another dog, big or small to cuddle with. He has been chewing on a couple rubber toys. And my yorkie/Pom Lilly will get him to play with her...she is relentless! :-)

Please read the previous bio, that will tell you a lot more about me!

My sweet, soft, squishy Sawyer...that'sSSSS...(must be a sign) is still waiting for his Forever Home!

P.S.
There are so many more puppy mill dogs, and abused, neglected, unwanted, throw-always out there! These precious souls are looking to be Rescued, and start a whole new life...one of love and caring, food and warmth, home and heart. But the sad reality is...until we find the perfect "Forever Home" for the fosters we have, we can not take anymore...
