My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Single, tan, year old, pittie female looking for her knight in shining armor. Delilah is a damsel in distress who wants to be rescued from her days in a cage. Being cooped up in a kennel is no place for a girl with such free spirits. She desperately desires to experience life to the fullest. Up for any adventure as long as the wind blows gently in her face. Being sweep off her paws is all this girl is dreaming of.

Delilah enjoys being active & staying fit. In need of a running or hiking companion? Delilah would be happy to accompany you. Playing in the backyard & enjoying some fresh air would be a great way to spend the day with her. She is amazing at catch & will gracefully fly through the air to retrieve her favorite rope toy mid-flight. Fluent in the art of sit but is seeking further direction to master the rest of her basic commands. Being highly food motivated she will make an excellent candidate for class scholar.

Some might call it a fault, while others call it an attribute; this pup knows no sense of personal space as she wants to cuddle to you as close as possible. If you don’t object she will just curl up on your lap. The closer she is to you, the happier she is. Being an affectionate pup, she will require you to get use to being showered with kisses regularly. Delilah would be an welcome addition to most homes. She does remarkable with other pups & she would love to play with kids. This pretty girl is not a fan of cats though. Thinking Delilah would fit right in with your family? Come to the shelter to meet her she is sure to leave paw prints on your heart too.

Note: As with all of our dogs, we strongly recommend obedience classes for new owner and dog to create a life-long bond with the adopted dog based on trust, respect and rewarding training experiences. We are offering dog training classes through FMAS Wagtime Dog Training. You can check out more information at www.fmaswagtime.com. We can help you train practical skills you use every day with positive reinforcement training. Our shelter dogs are strays and we observe and assess their behavior at the shelter which may be somewhat different in a home environment. In addition dogs adopted from the Manchester Animal Shelter are spayed/neutered, microchipped and have received their Rabies and distemper vaccinations as well as other necessary medical care such as flea treatment. All dogs are also heartworm tested. Some prudent care such as heartworm medication is not provided at the shelter and should be taken care of at the earliest convenience upon adoption.
