Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet our handsome Ben.. He is about 1 year old old and currently weighs about 50-55 lbs. He'll get up to 60+ when he is fully grown. He is an absolute sweetheart and gorgeous, in addition. We named him Ben after his savior and also because it fits him well as he is a very gentle soul.
Ben does still have a great sense of puppy fun in him. He loves to play chase with his doggy friends and also rope tug. He has a darling goofy, floppy way about him, kind of reminds us of the Disney dog, Goofy.
He is a spirited boy who is really only just now learning all about being a big puppy at play. He loves other dogs and is most comfortable and relaxed playing with his pack. He is great with the kitties and has learned that they don't always want to play with him. He now knows that if they walk or turn away from him, he needs to go find a more interesting playmate.
Ben was came into our rescue very "shut down." He wanted to just try to get really small and avoid all attention and often just hide in his crate. He has now learned to seek out attention and has learned that there are lots of good people, kind people who are worthy of his trust and love. He is learning now that life can be cozy and warm and cuddly. We would love to find a home that can bring Ben into the center of the home and family, preferably with another playful dog to show him the ropes.
Ben loves his mealtimes and loves his treats and chew toys and ropes. He also loves to play around the water, not so much for swimming but just to check things out.
This darling boy has just been neutered and has received all of his vaccinations. He is ready for a real home of his own where he will be treated like a treasured member of the family.
