Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi! I’m Beagle Bailey and look how pretty I am! My personality is just as lovely. I am around 9 years old with plenty of spark left. I like to play with toys and am oh-so-cute when I do! I also have a silly dance I will do when I want to rub my head on the carpet – I’ll spin ‘round and ‘round, sniffing and snorting with pleasure.
Solidly house trained, I am gentle and fun to have around. I’m not a big cuddler but I like to sit near you to be ready if you’re up for playing or belly rubbing. When you do pet me, you’ll be surprised at how soft my coat is. I don’t mind having my paws wiped off which is good because after doing business outside, I really get into the whole pushing-grass-around thing. It’s quite the production in my mind! No alarm needed as I will let you know when the mail carrier approaches (if I can see him or her), as well as if someone comes to the door. Once a visitor comes inside, I’m just super happy to get some “heavy petting” from them.
My former people had a “lifestyle change” and I still don’t understand why that meant they had to give me up because I am SO easy and such a delightful and mannerly girl. But I ended up in the shelter for two months and my prospects were becoming grim, when one day the nice people from Young At Heart came and took me on a car ride (I am very good in the car!). Now I fit right in with the pack of beagles at my foster home. I really like other dogs and would appreciate having one that will play with me. I haven’t been tested around cats but I could probably manage sharing my home with them as well. I am gentle enough for very small children – you should see how nicely I sit for a treat and how gently I will take it from you.
I am taking some meds to get my liver enzymes back in the normal range, and then I will have a dental cleaning and I’ll be ready for adoption! I am otherwise healthy but it can be stressful being in the shelter. There’s just nothing not to love about me, so when you’re ready, I’m ready! Bring me home to be YOUR dog and you’ll wonder how it took us so long to find one another!
