I understand that the Pit Bull breed is not one that most people want, but occasionally a Pit Bull comes along that not only needs a good home, but deserves a good home. That would be our girl, Cassidy. Cassidy was a totally rejected dog. A friend of our rescue was stopping by to get gas at a convenience store. As she pumped her gas, she saw a car drive through the parking lot. They stopped for a moment, opened the back door, shoved a dog out of the back seat, and then sped off. Few people were around to witness this at the time, but our rescue friend saw them. The dog scrambled to her feet, sees cars rushing by on the highway in front of her, and her survival mode kicks in. She ran. Somehow she dodged the speeding cars out on the highway and crossed over the median to safety. We searched for her for 3 more days before finding her, frightened and scared, and burrowed down in an out building behind someone's house. Although frightened, she was very friendly, and once she realized that we were there to help her and not hurt her, she became our new best friend. Cassidy was started on vaccinations, spayed, and is testing heart worm negative. She seems friendly with other dogs, but because of knowing the personality of the breed, we would recommend the following type of home for Cassidy. Cassidy would probably do best in a single dog environment. We are not sure if she is cat friendly or not and she does seem gentle enough with people and older children. I would prefer that she be in a home with children over the age of 12, but we will consider each applicant for their own merits. Cassidy is very active and does well on her leash. She would be a wonderful running partner or a great girl for an active person. Would love trips to the beach, dog park, or any place that she can run and play. She is very friendly and will offer kisses to you in exchange for lots of petting and hugs. Cassidy's picture really do not do this beautiful girl justice. She really is a gorgeous dog. Cassidy is ready to transport to her new home at any time now and she would love to be "home for the holidays". We have her on all monthly preventatives currently.
