Stormy was rescued with her friend, Norma just before Hurricane Norma hit La Paz, BCS, Mexico. The two friends were hanging around a local restaurant, where the owners were feeding them. But with a hurricane approaching, they were worried about them being left out in the storm. Local rescuers took Stormy and Norma in to keep them safe. Stormy is just the friendliest dog, she loves people and is outgoing, affectionate and loves to be snuggled! She also loves to play and does zoomies around the yard with her toys. Stormy would make an excellent famiily dog with her calm temperament and loyal, loving personality.Stormy is currently being fostered in San Diego, CA; and will be available at PetSmart in Campbell, CA on November 11th and Nov. 12th, 2023. Come on down and meet Stormy!

Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $600   Hemingway is a 5 month old Beagle x Min Pin mix who hopes his next chapter will be with you! This adorable author flew the coop (the local shelter) into the arms of our rescuer and he hasn’t looked back since! He came in with a few of his fictional pals and we promised to find each of them the best forever homes! Hemingway is a pint-sized pipsqueak with a heart four times the size of his body. You’ll be set for the adventure of a lifetime with a pal as amazing as Hemingway. We expect Hemingway to be in the 10-15 pound range when he is fully grown.    Hemingway is ready for his next chapter: being your best friend. He is kind, loyal, loving, gentle, with just enough mischievous puppy energy to keep you permanently entertained. This class clown adores his people, whether that’s in the form of playing, lounging, exploring, or cuddling. He is very smart and a quick learner as well. He loves his treats so he has been learning tricks rapidly. Our favorite Hemingway antic? Standing inconspicuously in the middle of big plants where he thinks nobody can see him. We won’t tell if you don’t! Hemingway is a well-adjusted pup with a heart of gold ready to join you on all of life’s adventures. Even though he is small, his personality is anything but! Snag this limited edition best seller before he flies off the shelf forever!  Hemingway starts his morning around 7:30 AM with a romp around the garden with the resident dogs. After breakfast, he enjoys a walk around the neighborhood where he eagerly greets his pals. After he returns home, he takes a long morning nap in the sunshine. Hemingway LOVES to get his tan on. Throughout the day, Hemingway alternates between zooming around the yard, playing with his toys, encouraging his foster siblings to get up to mischief, and keeping up with his nap schedule. In the evening, he goes to the local beach and greets more of his doggy besties. After dinner, he plays with his stuffed squirrel before he heads to bed where he sleeps happily through the night in his crate.  Hemingway is fabulous with dogs of all ages and sizes. He can charm anyone, regardless of their previous dog experience. He also doesn’t seem to care when he passes the neighborhood cats. As a puppy, he will still require training but he will be the star of puppy school with his cute face and smart mind. Hemingway is ready for a lifetime as your #1 sidekick!    Hemingway is an option for those with prior dog experience, even if that experience is less recent. Kids in the home should be over the age of 7.April 24, 2024, 10:21 am

Story
Looks like: Beagle, Chihuahua mix Male, 7 years old (estimated), 17 pounds Chiquito may be small, but he's got a lot of love to share! This little guy can be a bit anxious at first, but with a little patience and a lot of heart, Chiquito would make a great addition to a loving family. This loving pup wants nothing more than to spend the day snuggling, covering his new best friend with kisses. Little Chiquito would do well in a home where either he's the only apple of your eye, or he gets to have some doggy brothers or sisters. However, Chiquito appears to be a bit afraid of cats and, due to the fact that this little guy can get anxious from time to time, it's recommended that he does not live with young children. Chiquito came to us from Kern County Animal Services when they reached out for help due to their shelter being beyond capacity.
