Story
Meet Otto, our cherished 7-year-old Belgian Shepherd Mix who is seeking a new loving home. Despite our best efforts, we've realized that our current lifestyle doesn't provide Otto with the attention and activity he truly deserves. Therefore, we're looking for a family that can dedicate more time to playing with him and walking him. Otto is fully vaccinated and neutered, and he's a delightful companion around adults. However, he would thrive in an environment where there's more time for outdoor adventures and quality playtime. He's compatible with certain dogs, but has shown some signs of nipping behavior around others. To ensure Otto finds the perfect home, we're kindly requesting a small rehoming fee of $50. Thank you for considering opening your heart and home to Otto. Your companionship and commitment will undoubtedly bring him much joy and fulfillment.

Good With Kids: Older kids Good With Other Dogs: *Females same size ideal Good With Cats: No Housetrained: Yes Crate Trained: Yes Walks Nicely On A Leash: Yes Knows Basic Commands: Workin’ on it Energy Level (Couch Potato, Moderate or High): Go Go Go Special Needs: N/A Physical Fence: Preferred Favorite Toy / Activity: Loves fetch and squeaky toys Arrival story: Came to Waggin’ Tails from Detroit Animal Control in the summer of 2023. Approximate age / Weight: 1 yr old and 50 lbs. Personality: Arnold is a happy, energetic boy who arrived with an injury that required hip replacement surgery. He dealt with that like a champ and is ready to live life to the fullest. True to his breed, Arnold thrives on physical activity. He enjoys long walks, vigorous play sessions and likely would love to participate in dog sports. While he hasn’t charmed the male dogs (huskies) in his foster home, he hangs out with the lady dogs and respects their boundaries and corrections. We do not think Arnold is a good candidate for daycare or dog parks. New Home: Arnold is adaptable and would likely fit it to different home environments as long as his physical and mental stimulation needs are met. He is really looking for humans to appreciate his go-go-go personality. He will accept the challenge of keeping up with an active pet parent. Contact: Please contact wtdr@waggintailsdogrescue.org with any questions or submit adoption application via our website www.waggintailsdogrescue.org/adoption-application. ADOPTION INFO: We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To meet a dog in person, please see our event calendar on our website for the date and time of the next adoption event. Arrangements can be made to meet a dog outside of adoption events after an application is submitted and approved. Our adoption process includes an application and in-home meet-n-greet with the dog. -Adult Dog Adoption Fee - $250 -Senior Dog Adoption Fee - $125 -Pup Adoption Fee - $250 plus $50 spay/neuter deposit refunded upon proof of surgery by 6 mos.

Story
Everyone say hi to Mr. Hipster, a handsome, loving, loyal boy that we call the puppchino devourer!  He is super food-motivated which makes him a dream to train, as his current foster is a dog trainer and says “Hipster will do anything for food, yes anything…”.  He does also love the ball and play fetch ... but he tells me he loves food more. He's had a lot of training under his belt and will come w/ continued support from his foster. He knows basic commands and is great at recall. Currently, his BFF in foster care is a submissive female Lab that he loves to play with, he does great with puppies as well. Hipster is very low maintenance, just a walk (not a runner here) around the block and he is happy to chill the rest of the day with his person.  As for possible sports with Hipster, nose work might be up his alley as long as there is something tasty as a reward.  This young man came into MAD with a hitch in his giddy-up from a previous leg injury which has been rehabbed but he should not be in any high-impact activities in the future. His forever home would be one that understands his limitations, is willing to continue his training, might have another dog (submissive) for him to play with, and does not have any children or cats in the home.  He would love nothing more than being able to be around his human and getting pets. He takes a bit to warm up but once you are his human he is all yours! He considers himself a lap dog! If you are looking for a loyal companion who isn't the typical high drive/energy Mal, Hipster is for you!  Apply for him today! Follow him on Facebook #madlovehipster All of our dogs come with a Fi collar and one year subscription.  If you are interested in adopting this pet please complete an application at this link https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/24689/generic.  We are an official 501c3 organization that does not have a physical location. Story
We pulled Myra from a Miami Shelter that sent out an urgent call to rescues to help a 4 month old puppy with a broken jaw and injured leg. it was obvious she was in pain and looks like she was suffering from dog bites. Our volunteer rushed her to our vet so she could get immediate care.   Her jaw was broken in 2 places and the wounds on her leg were infected.    Thanks to the generosity of our amazing MAD supporters we raise the money for her surgery.  She is currently recovering with a medical foster and we do not know when she'll be available for adoption.  If you are interested in adopting this pet please complete an application at this link https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/24689/generic.  We are an official 501c3 organization that does not have a physical location. Story
Sweet Trooper is 1 1/2 and has arrived in rescue needing significant medical care.  Surgeries are scheduled and he's on his way to healing.  One thing he is working on is kennel anxiety, to the point of where he can hurt himself. He has settled in with his foster and more information will be available soon. Ideally, Trooper needs a person that works from home. He is pretty much a velcro dog that needs to take it easy. Minimal kennel time needed. If you are interested in adopting this pet please complete an application at this link https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/24689/generic.  ******************************************* All dogs come with a Fi tracking collar and a one-year subscription to the GPS service.
