Story
Meet Lily! Lily is a 5-year-old, 14 pound Bichon-Poodle mix who is sweet, gentle, and looking for her forever home.
Rescued from a puppy mill, Lily is still learning to trust humans, but her progress has been remarkable. While she may be a bit shy at first, her curious nature shines through, and she warms up quickly with patience and gentle reassurance. Lily is currently using a pad for bathroom needs, but with a consistent schedule, she's making strides in learning to go outside. Although she hasn't quite mastered signaling when it's time, Lily is eager to please and with continued guidance, she'll get there.
Lily loves spending time outdoors, exploring new sights and smells, and is the perfect companion for walks in the park or leisurely strolls around the neighborhood! Lily's calm demeanor and patience make her an excellent fit for households with children and other dogs, where she can share her love and bring joy to those around her. Adopt Lily and provide her with the safe and caring environment she deserves to thrive in!
Lily is currently being fostered in Union Township, NJ, and her adoption fee is $600.
Lily is a Patron Pup. Patron Pups have higher adoption fees due to varying reasons and are adopted quickly, even with these higher adoption fees. They may be purebred, a highly desirable breed, small in size fully grown, etc. These fees allow them to act as patrons to other pets in our care who may not be as adoptable, or have ongoing costs for medical care, contributing to a longer time in rescue, and therefore a higher cost for us to care for them. Patron Pups allow us to continue rescuing these other animals and give them a better chance at finding their forever homes as well.

All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
