Just like the pastry, you’re going to want to eat this girl up! Croissant is a 4-year old, 48-pound Bluetick Coonhound mix who will melt in your arms like butter and spread her sweetness around like strawberry jam! Awwwww! Housebroken and crate trained, Croissant knows the do’s and dont’s of where and when to deal with her potty needs. She lovvvves going for walks and has excellent leash manners, but for the occasional squirrel she might spot along the way. Her energy level falls squarely in the midrange, in that Croissant enjoys playtime and romping around, but also sees the value of chill time and has no problem relaxing alone. Croissant is very much into human contact and thrives on attention and affection. She is a rockstar with people of all ages, including young kiddos with whom she is always sweet and gentle. With proper introduction and guidance, she is fine around other dogs, but might need a reminder here and there. She responds well to correction and she always aims to please! Smart and curious, Croissant likes exploring unfamiliar places and embracing new situations. She listens well to the commands sit and get down, and she will respect your wishes if you tell her to stay away or give space. Utah (her friends call her Luna) was surrendered due to no fault of her own. She is good on leash and is housebroken. Luna knows her basic commands and will sit nicely for a treat. Luna is a just a sweet love and enjoys having her belly or soft ears rubbed. This beautiful girl is good with other dogs once she gets a chance to meet /socialize with them but has never lived with cats. Luna tolerates children well and is very interested in being near them for a bit but will then ignore them. Luna is about 8 years old and 50 pounds. A good samaritan saw someone drop off a Mom and her 9 puppies at an abandoned house. The good samaritan was able to collect the Mom and her babies and bring them to a local shelter for help. The family was seen by the vet and are doing well. The puppies have been weaned and Mom will be spayed. Mom looks like a Hound/Lab mix and she weighs 46 pounds full grown but we do not know anything about the Dad(s). The puppies are all friendly, happy and playful and ready to find their forever families. They get along with kids, other dogs and cats as well. Yuma is about 9 weeks old and 8 pounds. Please help Yuma find the loving home she deserves. ***You must provide a vet reference for a current or past pet you have/had.*** We do NOT ship our animals. We saw sweet Ginny on Facebook. She was a stray that ended up in a high kill shelter in Virginia. Shortly after she arrived she gave birth to 4 puppies. The shelter had no idea that she was pregnant because she was nothing but skin and bones. We knew we somehow had to get her here to Tennessee so we put our thinking caps on and a lot of wonderful volunteers drove her to our pick up spot in southern VA where our regular transporter picked her and the babies up on his way back to Nashville. We met them in Nashville at 1 AM and drove the family 100 miles back to the rescue. We knew Ginny was young, possibly still a pup herself and our vet confirmed that she was only 11 months at the time of the puppy's birth. Her pups have all been adopted and now it's Ginny's turn! Walker Hounds are very high energy dogs and can be a little stubborn so make sure you research the breed before you make the choice to adopt. We insist on a fenced yard for her so she can have room to free run and enjoy the rest of her life. These dogs are the number one dumped off breed as their owners will desert them if they don't hunt the way they want them too! We have several of them here at the rescue for that very reason. They are fun loving couch potatoes and will bring you many years of joy and happiness! PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION! Our sweet Abby is just a joy to be around. She came from a high kill shelter in South Carolina. We actually saw her on Facebook when they were begging for someone to get her out of there. She was 24 hours away from being euthanized. There are so very many stray hound dogs and the shelters run out of room so they only stay for so long before they are put to sleep. It's very sad. Abby is the sweetest, most loving girl that you will ever meet. She just loves everybody! She is a full blooded Walker hound, approximately 2 years young. She came with heart worms but we treated her and now she is heart worm free. She is also crate trained, fully vaccinated, microchipped and ready for her forever home! could that be you?
