Story
We got Savannah from the local Humane Society in May 2023. Beautiful, timid, protective. She is slow to warm up to new people. She needs a gentle patient human who can take the time to develop a bond. She is NOT the type who instantly trusts and loves everyone she sees. Warms up faster indoors. Savannah is 65 lb. I estimate 2-3 years old. I think she is at or near her full size, but she still has the puppy-clumsy-paws. When she sleeps on my bed she rolls off in the night--hilarious, but also startling. Sadly, one of my other dogs started biting Savannah. Savannah eventually retaliated. I think Savannah would do well in home with or without other dogs, just not this one dog. I can give much more detail about this. She has been a very rewarding addition to our family. And I wish we could keep her ourselves. We got her to protect sheep. She barks well. But she is afraid of the sheep. w/ cats - curious and timid, not yet aggressive. w/ kids - gentle, tho clumsy.

Story
Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue: See below. Reason for being in rescue: Beaux originally came to CPR in 2015 as an owner surrender. He was adopted by a loving family. Unfortunately, Beaux became aggressive toward a small dog in the home and he was returned to CPR in June 2018. Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? None noted Weight: Est 48 lbs (he's a little chunky) Height: Est 24" at the shoulder Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $200 Fence needed? Yes What kind of home would be best for me? Beaux would prefer a home with experienced owners of his breed and temperament. Currently, he is living with several other same size and bigger dogs as he doesn't like little dogs that represent prey. Beaux prefers proper dog on dog introductions to help him get used to his new friends. He would rather make human friends than dog friends because he knows people will play ball with him.  Beaux's new family will need to understand that as a working breed, Beaux needs and wants a job to do. He is not a couch potato! A big fenced in yard with plenty of open space to run and often hikes would be just right. Beaux does not want to run alone, he wants to be with his people and/or in his safe place - his crate.   What is my personality like? Beaux is a gorgeous brown and white border collie. He is incredibly friendly to people and thinks they are wonderful. Beaux does have a lot of anxiety in him, anxiety that will temper but not completely alleviate once he is in his new home.  He does have mild separation anxiety because he wants to be with his people as much as possible.  Beaux is so smart, he can actually open doors when the mood strikes him! He enjoys being loved on and running around. He is very mellow in his crate, but Beaux needs space where he can be free to run and enjoy life. He plays fetch and is not aggressive at all when you take the ball back from him. He just wants to be with you. He lets you know when he is ready to rest by nosing the door to go back in. Beaux loves to be outside and loves going on hikes with his caregivers. Big fenced yards give him plenty of space to run off energy. Beaux is medium energy, depending on what is going on around him. Beaux is not food or crate aggressive to people he knows. A new person needs introduced before they can take the bowl out. A new person becomes a BFF in just a few hours. Simply spend some time with him and you will earn his trust.  He is a toy hoarder and he loves anything that squeaks. He also absolutely loves to be groomed and gets so exciting on bath and brush days. He is very clean in his crate! How do I act when I first meet new people? Friendly Other tips and tidbits: Estimated Birthdate: 9/19/2011.  Be prepared for a lot of people to tell you what a stunning, beautiful dog you have.   House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. April 22, 2024, 10:24 pm

Story
And our boy Colt is ready to find a family to call his own - as most of you saw after his neuter he started having urinary issues which we knew could have been from inflammation after the surgery and he was on meds for that but to rule out anything serious we did all the testing including bloodwork, urinalysis and radiographs and everything was clear - so after a little more time we are glad to say that he is no longer having these issues which is a huge relief - just needed a little bit more time to heal. This boy is simply amazing - he was born August 2023 so he is still a young pup but he came to our last event and his amazing foster Mom, Kara, has done amazing things with him and he was so so well behaved. His last weight was 38 pounds so we do think he will be a smaller border collie but he has that amazing border collie spirit Here is what his foster mom had to say about him: Colt is the sweetest boy ever. He LOVES attention. Colt is a very affectionate pup so would need a family that doesn’t mind him in their personal space! So far he has been amazing with kids but please be aware that since he is very affectionate and does get very playful at times, he could potentially knock them over. He does great with all dogs but he does not understand how big he is so I would recommend all dogs in home to be over 15 pounds. He walks perfect on a leash. Colt is pretty much fully potty trained but will need someone to keep being consistent with taking him out. He is also fully crate trained. He is still figuring out toys and how to play fetch but loves his chew bones. Colt has a very good off switch, meaning he knows when it’s time to just chill inside but that does not mean he doesn’t have a lot of energy, he definitely will need an active family! He is a very smart boy so would thrive with continued training, he loves treats so makes it easier to work with him! Overall Colt is honestly just an amazing pup and really his only “flaw” is that he doesn’t do good in a car so will need a patient person to work with him or wait until he grows out of it. Colt's adoption fee is $250.00 - he is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, has had a full bloodwork panel done, current on heartworm prevention and flea/tick prevention. If you are interested in adopting Colt, please go to our website www.boxerbuttsandothermutts.org and fill out one of our adoption applications. We do NOT set up a meet and greet until the application has been received and reviewed. We do vet references and a home visit as well. And as a reminder we do not have a facility - all of our dogs are in private foster homes throughout western North Carolina and Upstate South Carolina. This boy is going to be an AMAZING addition to some very lucky family - get those applications in soon

My name is Jolene, but you can call me your future fur-ever friend. I'm a 3-year-old Border Collie/German Shepherd mix, a blend of intelligence, affection and playful spirit. Let me tell you a bit about myself, from my own pawspective!A Brainy Beauty: They say I'm a mix of two of the smartest breeds, and I proudly live up to that! I'm not just a pretty face with my long, lush fur; I've got the brains too. I know lots of commands like 'sit', 'stay', 'down', and even 'NOW' (for when things are super important). I'm crate-trained, which means I have my own cozy den where I feel safe and happy.Lover of Learning: I'm always eager to learn new tricks and skills. Teaching me is as easy as giving me treats and some of your time. I love showing off my tricks, and I'm always up for learning more.Cuddly Companion: My favorite part of the day is cuddling with you. Yes, you! I may have lots of energy for running and playing fetch, but I'm also an expert in the art of relaxation. I adore snoozing by your side, and I'm a big fan of TV – dog shows and nature documentaries are my favorites!Adventure Buddy: Car rides? Errands? Count me in! I'm your go-to girl for all adventures. My energetic nature makes me a perfect companion for outdoor activities, but what I love most is spending time with my human.A Home with Heart: My current family loves me a lot, but, alas, my beautiful long hair isn't the best for their allergies. I'm dreaming of a home with a fenced yard where I can zoom around and play to my heart's content. Smaller furry siblings are great, but I'm a bit unsure around dogs my size (about 45 pounds) or larger.A Heart Full of Love: At the end of the day, all I want is to give and receive love. I promise to be your loyal friend, your confidant and your most enthusiastic adventure partner. If you have room in your home and heart for a sweet, intelligent and loving companion, look no further. I'm here, wagging my tail, waiting for our paths to cross. Let's make beautiful memories together!Ready to meet me? Reach out to sam.kocharov@gmail.com or 561-504-4631 and let's set up a time. I can't wait to start our journey together! All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at pets@mpravl.org for more information. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC. April 23, 2024, 6:10 am

Story
Meet Reese, an 11-month Border Collie/Shepherd mix who is playful, inquisitive and friendly. She has a winning smile and a shiny coat with just a hint of brindle on her legs and face. Eager to please, Reese has already learned several introductory commands ("Sit", "Wait" and "Watch") and is learning more each day. Although new to leash walking, she took to it quickly and enjoys strutting her stuff around the trails. A fit and affectionate young dog, Reese enjoys playing with her siblings and the other pups at the rescue. A lover of humans too, it doesn't take much coaxing for her to flop over for a belly rub and some personal cuddles. Lean and athletic, she would be a wonderful running, hiking or biking buddy. Reese is also crate trained and walks into her crate without protest, as she knows it means nap time or meal time! Interested in having sweet Reese join your family? She'll be ready for adoption soon, so don't wait! Submit your no-cost/ no-obligation Adoption Application at www.AlmostHomeDogRescueNC.com and an Adoption Coach will contact you to tell you all about our fun-loving Reese!
