Story
Hi, I’m Wesley, I turned 2 years old on July 24,2023 according to the shelter I was rescued from. I have ✨ anxiety ✨ but that doesn’t mean I don’t deserve a loving home! My rescue family and my vet believe I am a tan Border Collie and possibly Australian Shepherd mix. I was most likely dumped in a subdivision in Lenoir City right before 4th of July fireworks started. I wandered around for an entire month and a half before someone decided to try and trap me. I was very, very frightened when animal control came to get me and took me to the shelter. Can you imagine how stressful this entire situation was for me? Since no one came to claim me and I still wasn’t overly friendly with the staff, I was set to be euthanized. That’s when my rescue family stepped in and saved my life! Since coming to my new home, I have undergone a training evaluation with Pawsitively K9 and have built a bond with my rescue mom. I let her cut my nails, give me baths, and even brush me! I like to play with toys and I like attention from people I trust. I have gotten along with other dogs and if I have a doggy sibling I prefer to have a dog who will respect my space! I also need a home without young children as they make too many sudden movements for me. I would do best in a home without children or with older children (12+). Also since we’re being completely honest, I want to share that I have responded negatively in the past when I felt threatened or stressed. I nipped the kind lady when she trapped me but now I know she was only trying to help. I also nipped an acquaintance who was petting me after a public outing which everyone now knows is too stressful for me. I have nipped 3 additional times with less familiar people each time while in my kennel or during transitions into/out of my kennel (putting leash on/off). My trainer and rescue family have noticed a trend that I typically only react when I am in a small, confined space with people I do not know well. However, during my first grooming appointment, I did wonderful even with a new person in a new space! I thrive with a routine and would love a home that doesn’t get too many strangers or visitors. I am not a dog that would enjoy coming with you to brunch, I’m too much of a homebody so please let me stay at home. My new home would need lots of patience and plenty of time to decompress and build trust. Once I trust you, I am a very sweet, loyal companion! UTD on vaccines, on preventatives, and microchipped.

Story
Tucker was 4 months old, abandoned in the woods with his 2 siblings. They were starving, covered in fleas. His brother and sister were homed together soon after. We kept Tucker. We made a mistake in keeping him. We can't meet his needs. As a 9 month old border collie mix his energy is very high. He needs more space than we have to run around and he needs lots of mental stimulation. Tucker is a beautiful, smart, trainable, healthy, strong dog. He needs someone who knows border collies, who has the energy and will spend time training him.

Meet Tron! He is an energetic 3 month old Border collie/mix puppy, he loves to play and zoom around. He prefers to be in a home with no cats, he isn't a big fan of them. He has the zoomies all the time and is very eager to please. He just loves the attention and he will be your best friend if you play tug of war with him!

Rocky is ready to rock and roll right into your heart! This five year old dog enjoys his playtime and walks but also loves to settle down to watch his shows once he's all played out (Curious George is his favorite right now). He is also very talkative with people; he likes to tell you how his day is going and if there are any complaints. With other dogs in our doggy playgroups, he is sweet, social, and playful. Story
Update for Bennett and Cole. It all began in December with the story of three very frightened homeless pups and the collaborative efforts of local animal advocates helping to find them a home of their own. You can now meet both Cole and Bennett on April 27, 2024 at the Carden Farm Dog Park! They will there 10-3 helping out at the Paws for Learning Booth at the Paws for a Cause Pet Expo...and looking forward to meeting their future families. They are ready to go home...either foster or foster to adopt homes. In late December, three young pups were abandoned at a church in Oliver Springs. They found shelter under a nearby house of an elderly couple who cared enough to feed them and who reached out to AC ARF. It didn’t take the pups long to learn that a covered shelter with food and water was a much safer place to live, and they all moved into a pen on their own accord! With reliable food, water, shelter and bedding these pups were already feeling and looking much better than when they arrived. But winter was coming and in late December, AC ARF arranged for them to be boarded at Norris Animal Hospital in Clinton, where they could decompress. Confident Frankie (‘ole blue eyes) was quickly adopted, and happily blossomed in his new home. By mid-February Bennett and Cole were happy and healthy, gaining confidence and trust in people and their environment. They learned that living is no longer a struggle and that life can be a lot of fun. We learned they are both smart and very dog social, and love to play with each other and other dogs (especially when they visit the dog park) and they love their food and treats. When Down and Dirty Dogs, Inc., (DDD) jumped in to help, we knew these dogs would be superstars. DDD https://www.facebook.com/downanddirtydogs is an East TN grass-roots non-profit that aims to improve the quality of life and adoptability of rescue dogs. It is now April and Bennett and Cole are participating in a board and train program at Meadowbrooke Kennels in Knoxville https://www.facebook.com/meadowbrookekennel where they are receiving foundational training; learning essential commands, basic manners, socialization, as well as getting exercise. They are now stellar at walking on a leash, and both especially enjoy hanging out in the agility field with all those fun looking activities at Meadowbrooke. An elderly couple that cared about hungry homeless pups began a process that turned into an amazing collaborative effort to bring these dogs to this stage of being ready for adoption. Will you join us ‘finish up’ these pups by fostering or fostering to adopt? These smart and playful boys come with a year of free training support from Meadowbrooke and have all medical expenses covered by Anderson County Animal Rescue Foundation. At 8-9 months old, Cole and Bennett are now eager to find their forever home. They are shy, healthy, smart, food-motivated, and friendly to other dogs. AC ARF is looking for a foster or foster to adopt families to help them learn what it is like to live in a warm home with love and affection. Having their own families would provide a sense of belonging to these pups so they can really blossom. Anderson County Animal Rescue Foundation (AC ARF) https://www.acanimalrescuefoundation.org is looking for a foster or foster to adopt families for Bennett and Cole, two 8-9 month old husky/shepherd mix breed pups. These pups have come a long way since they came into rescue…they have learned much, and we have learned much about them. These dogs are both very dog (and cat!) friendly, and would do best living with another dog or dogs providing some guidance. They are neutered and up to date on preventives and vaccines, and are calm, easy going, attentive dogs. They are still a little shy, but are beginning to learn they can trust people…even little ones! Cole is a black and tan Husky/Border Collie mix, Bennett is a tan, Husky/Shepherd mix. They each weigh about 40 lbs and their adoption fee is @$75. For more information or arrange to meet, reach out to ACARF by messaging the ACARF Facebook page, emailing ACARF2018@gmail.com, or texting/calling Katrina at 865-414-2491. If adoption isn’t feasible for you, please share their story or consider supporting ACARF, Meadowbrooke, or DDD to help more pups find the love and care they deserve.

Story
Everyone meet Willow. Willow has the most beautiful chocolate coat. She is currently 4 and a half years old and weighs appx 45lbs. Willow is spayed and completely house trained. Willow is out of all the puppy stages and is just a joy to have around. She gets along with all dogs big and small. Willow pulls a bit on leash but loves walks and is a great car riding companion. This girl can’t get enough belly rubs and is usually found walking around with a toy in her mouth. Willow can be a bit timid on meeting new people but it doesn’t take much to get her to warm up. She could use someone who’s going to be patient with her when meeting new people. Once adopted Willow will travel via Rescue Vet pet transport to a location closest to you. (transport cost is $160.00) If you would like to make this adorable girl part of your family please follow the link below to our application. https://forms.gle/APKvbgFJcaRvgKgk9

Story
Hello, my name is Dove. I am a very shy girl that would love to have a chance to warm up to you! I came from a hoarding situation and was not allowed to socialize with other humans. Once I warm up to you, I am the most loving and happiest furbaby around! My foster mom says you can receive help from her to transition into your home! I live at woofwoof fosters, but I belong to the SPCA of Bradley County! The founder/ director of woofwoof fosters is my foster mommy! I prefer to be around people that know and respect my boundaries and are willing to take their time to let me warm up to you. I have never bitten or growled when being approached outdoors. I will hide to feel safe. While I may be shy with new humans, my rescue mom uses me as a peer model to introduce new dogs to our rescue! Yep, I am cool as a cucumber with new dogs and respect their space but still love to play! Please call my Foster mommy to set up a visit or a video call with me to see my true self! It took me 4 days to warm up to my foster mommy! However, please remember the 3,3,3 rule (3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to learn the routine, and 3 months to feel at home). My foster mommy (woofwoof fosters) works with a dog trainer and has already had me evaluated! Looking forward to meeting with you to help find my new furever home! Sincerely yours, Dove Patience, realistic expectations and a good match in a home environment are the keys to success! Dove is currently available from a loving foster home. Please email bspcafoster@gmail.com to coordinate a time for a meet and greet! Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: White Weight: 61.6lbs Age: Animal has been Spayed UTD on vaccines, on preventatives, and microchipped.

What we know about Gus: 💢Great with dogs 💢Great with kids (has lived with kids and another dog previously) 💢Awesome temperament 💢Calm, great on a leash 💢About 1.5 years old 💢Potty trained 💢Crate trained 💢Loves snuggles 💢Recovering from demodex mange (not contagious) but will require a few more medicated baths to help with continued healing We think he could be a heeler/boxer mix because of the speckles but we truly still don’t have a great idea about breed. The regrowth of hair didn’t help us with this as much as we thought it would 😂 We wanted to note that since Gus had demodex mange, this means he is genetically predisposed to contract this again if he does not take preventatives regularly. 💊 He is currently doing very well on Simparica Trio (combined monthly flea/tick and heartworm medication)! Please let us know if you have any questions about this condition. Can be cat tested upon request! Microchipped, up to date on shots and monthly preventatives
