Story
Max is a 3 year old Boxer/Pit Bull mix looking for his forever home. Max was adopted form a shelter as a young puppy, then abandoned by his owner just a year later. He has been in foster care waiting for the right family to come along. Max enjoys car rides, going for walks, meeting new people, playing with toys, and cuddling with his people. He is a very sweet and attentive dog. He is highly trainable as he learns new tricks very fast. Max has a medium level of energy. He can definitely keep up with long walks and new adventures but is just as happy to hang out on the couch. Max is good with dogs his size or larger, but needs a home without smaller animals, including small dogs and cats.

Story
My name is Echo. I used to have a family, and one day we went for a ride. We went to the country, and they let me out to pee and sniff around. I thought we were going to play, because they knew I loved to run! When I looked up, they were gone! I didn't know what to do. I went to the road and walked until I found a house. I wasn't sure what to do, because it wasn't my house. At MY house, I did whatever I wanted! Nobody told me to sit or stay or wait or anything, But I really like people. I like to run, too. I do the best I can, but nobody ever taught me how to be the best. I would so love for somebody to take me running or hiking! Me and a person...that would be so great! That's all I hope for in this world. I'm very strong. I wish a man would meet me and love me! I'd love him forever. Lucies Project requires a phone interviw, please provide your number.

Story
Hiya, My name is Ronni, like Ronnie Dunn from Brooks & Dunn! "I spend most every night, beneath the light of a neon moon...." Ok, maybe not neon but definitely the moon! Shall I sing another song for you??? ;) I was dumped by some meanie head on the side of the highway with my brother and another older girl dog who we're thinking was not my mom. Anywho, being next to the highway is not a safe place for us pups. A concerned college student picked us up and attempted to hide us in her parent's garage, but that was short lived as I'm sure you surmised. So here we are at Lucies. The peeps are so nice here! They got us all vetted up and have given us a place to stay until we are adopted. I'm kinda shy, cuz ya know I'm a puppy but I'm super duper cute and just know I could be a perfect addition to a loving family. What do you say, could you be that family?? I hope so!!! *** We strive to ensure our dogs are going to a safe, loving and caring home. Phone interviews are required for all adoptions****

Story
And then along came Jones!!! Hiya peeps!! How's it going out there? It wasn't going so good for me in my early days of life. A gentleman working at a cement factory was doing his best to care for all of us doggies that get dumped by lowlife scum at the plant. He was nice and kind enough to get with a spay/neuter program to help us and feed us. He noticed a newcomer one day - it was a very thin me! He fed me...what a great guy! The next day when he came back, he saw a very injured dog. I had puncture wounds to my face and legs, both of which were severely swollen and one wound was inches away from losing an eye. Several mean dogs had gotten ahold of me and tore me up good. :( The gentleman reached out to Lucies and they thankfully took me in and got me all fixed up. Those peeps are the most awesomest in the whole wide world!! I am patient and affectionate. I try hard to be a pleaser and do not appear to be stubborn. I am loyal and just want to be loved and treated like God intended a dog to be. After all, God spelled backwards is Dog! I am leash and crate trained. Inquire about me, you won't regret it!! *** We strive to ensure our dogs are going to a safe, loving and caring home. Phone interviews are required for all adoptions****

Story
Gypsy is available for either in-state adoption or adoption and transport to another state. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down here so she is willing to relocate for a good, loving, forever home. Gypsy is a very good girl and is the most obedient dog I have ever seen. She knows how to sit and comes when called. She is housetrained and very well behaved in the house. She likes her crate and sleeps in it with the door open. She walks well on a leash and rides well in a vehicle. Gypsy loves her toys, especially squeaky ones, and she loves playing fetch. Gypsy is active - she loves to run and play with toys and other dogs. She loves water and lays in the wading pool when it is hot, and we bet she would love snow. She gets excited about squirrels, cats, and critters on the other side of the fence. Gypsy does well with all dogs but gets along best with male dogs. She is normally good around small dogs but occasionally mistakes one for a toy when she is over-excited. So she is not recommended for homes with small dogs. She is not too fond of puppies getting in her face either. Gypsy loves human attention and is good with children. She could perhaps use more obedience training with someone firm, patient, and loving. Gypsy is very sweet. She gets attached to her human and likes to lay under my desk when I work on the computer. Gypsy walks well on a leash and rides well in the car. She must be in the house as a loved family member, and she needs a yard with a 6' fence to run and play. Gypsy came from a bad home. She was not being fed and was severely underweight. So the people surrendered Gypsy and her puppies to animal control to avoid animal cruelty charges. Gypsys DNA test results are mostly Boxer, Husky, and German Shepherd. She bounces on her front legs when she is excited and we now know that comes from the Boxer in her. Gypsy is around 5 years of age and weighs 70 pounds (she only weighed 35 pounds when we got her). Gypsy is healthy. She is spayed, tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. Gypsy had a light case of heartworms when we first got her. We used the slow-kill method (we are happy to explain this) and she is now negative for heartworms and on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. We would love Gypsy to have a fabulous forever home and we will consider both in-state and out-of-state applications. Her in-state adoption fee is $200. Her out-of-state adoption fee is $450 and includes the cost of ground transport. She can be transported almost anywhere within the continental United States. Gypsy is located in Texas and cannot be transported until after she is adopted. Please send an email to 2manydogstx@gmail.com if you are interested in adopting this very good girl. Story
Odie is a handsome boy who loves attention and will politely ask for it from anyone. His beautiful brindle and white coat glisten in the sunlight, making him look magestic. He`s currently in a short term foster who says, ` He gets major wiggle butt when he’s given love and attention. He seems to know outside and kennel and is good with kids and dogs that are smaller than he is. He also likes to stealthily sneak into your lap if he sees the opportunity!` Odie would make a wonderful companion for anyone without cats, as true to his name`s sake Odie is not a fan of cats.
