Story
My Dad is entering hospice and I am caring for his dog. I'm not a dog person though and my house isn't set up to host one. Fiddle is 12. His vet papers say he has arthritis but I haven't seen any signs of it. He's got a lot of energy. Absolute runt of the litter. Beyond docile. Afraid of his own shadow. Fine with cats, kids, and I think other dogs but I'm not 100% sure. He does fine being home alone but he whines if I'm out of the room and he can't see me. I might have snacks after all. My dad was letting him out into the backyard whenever he wanted and Fiddle has be getting used to doing his business on scheduled walks. He was bought as a purebred but if I remember correctly the papers were faked or some other issue with AKC. He seems to be thriving with getting regular walks. My dad fed him a lot of table scraps but he hasn't been begging me for any. He's sweet, fluffy and energetic. So hopefully I can find someone who can overlook his advanced age.

Story
Meet Fiddle! Are you looking for a new officemate for your work-from-home job or a pet friendly workplace? Fiddle would like to apply! Fiddle is a snuggly man with the softest spaniel ears you'll feel all year. He'll make sure you feel them too - he loves to cuddle and will take as many pats as you'll give him! Fiddle is a mobile, 49 pound senior guy, with the heart of a younger dog. He'll jump right up onto your bed to claim his rightful place at night. He's a homebody who's used to his people spending all day with him at home and would love to continue that in his retirement home. He's an excited, loving, loyal boy who wants to spend as much time with you as possible and nap at your feet. A yard to roll around in in the sunshine would also be wonderful for him - this boy loves his outside time! His joints may start getting sore on long walks, but he would still enjoy accompanying you on your wildest adventures, like walking down the street and smelling every single sidewalk crack in your path. He's experiencing a lot of new things with shyness but plenty of courage and would love someone who's ready to patiently guide him into being a more confident dog. He's a smart boy who would love to do some classes with you as a bonding activity, but he's already got the basic skill set as a wonderful family dog. With his active, curious nose, he would probably love to introduce you to nosework games! Speaking of the basics, Fiddle does great letting you know when he needs to go outside and is very prompt about doing his business on leashed walks. Fiddle has successfully lived with cats before and has a cat sibling in his foster home. He would do well as an only pet or as part of a mellow crew containing both cats and dogs. Fiddle also got to meet chickens recently and could coexist with them happily! Would his hunting dog ancestors be a little embarrassed of how little interest he showed in the birds? Maybe, but we think it's cute. His gentle temperament was evident from day one and he has only gotten sweeter. We hope you want to fall in love with Fiddle while ge settles into your home as his forever home! *Fidsle is being fostered in Madison, WI.
