Story
Description Roo is a young white and tan female bull terrier mix with a medium build. She is well socialized and gets along great with everyone. Personality Roo is a very loving dog that gets along great with her foster home’s other 3 larger dogs. She loves to cuddle. She is full of energy and loves to run. She is doing fantastic with behavior, is crate trained, house trained and does well on leash. She is learning to fetch and will sit on command. A smart, cuddly, happy girl. Background Roo was found in September near Louetta Rd and Forrest Lodge Dr in north west Houston (Heatherwood Village Entrance). She willingly and happily got into her finder’s car. She was not chipped and had no collar when found. Has been fostered by her finder for many months as they attempted to locate a possible owner. She was listed on multiple lost /found pet social media pages and websites, but there were no responses. She was in good shape and overweight when found. She is losing weight being active with her other dog playmates. If you are looking forward to meeting me please contact my shelter gnarhouston@gmail.com.

Story
Meet 3 year old, Riley! What can we say that captures this unique boy? He is silly, playful and confident. Riley loves fetch (but is not a star athlete)! He also loves trips to Lazy Dog Cafe with burgers on occasion. Riley is looking for a seasoned family to join that knows what they want from a dog. He has all of his basic training down after attending a board and train program. His trainer said if he didn't have 4 dogs of his own, he would've adopted Riley on the spot. Riley needs someone that is committed to keeping up his training. His family should match his confidence and discipline for routine. In turn they'll be rewarded with a family member that is unique and loving. This guy bonds for life! If you are interested in adopting Riley please fill out our adoption application https://forgottencoastanimalrescue.org/adoption-application

As you can see, I am a real sweetie and a bit shy. I was found living on a baseball field but a nice lady saw me and took an interest in helping me find a real home off the streets. Could you be my real family? Let’s give it a try.

Story
Hermes' favorite place to be is outside. He loves it! He enjoys running and chase, chewing and digging. He also will run away if given the chance in search of more fun things to do. He weighs 42 pounds and is very active and playful. He is afraid of baths. He enjoys leading while on a leash because he gets excited. He is working on house training and spent his days either outside, crated, or in a room. When he needs to go out he'll whine or bark. He has been at the shelter long enough now that he has probably forgotten his previous training so he'll need a refresher course. He is easygoing, friendly, and playful with other dogs but may be picky about his canine companions. You will need to bring your dog to meet him. He is friendly and playful with teenagers but has no experience with children. He loves being petted. He came from a home with too many animals and there wasn't enough room for him. Please offer Hermes the home and family he needs. He has a bigger than life personality and promises to make your life more fun and exciting. (tw 7/10/2023)Foster update: Hermes is now house trained and has learned how to use a doggie door. He has also learned how to swim and loves being in a pool. He got along well with his foster's dogs and loves chase and wrestling. He has no desire to be the alpha dog. If you have questions about Hermes or would like to meet him, please reach out to his foster at sues2dogs@gmail.com (sm 8/13/2023)Click "Play" to meet Hermes. This animal has been available at the shelter for more than 30 days and is now considered a VIP.The adoption fee is 50% off! -jc (4/24/23)

Story
LOVES BELLY RUBS AND GIVES KISSESEst. DOB 10/8/18, Weight ~ 65 lbs I’m Buster, a sweet, happy, eager-to-please, playful Boxer/ Black Mouth Cur mix fella who loves “marathon” belly rubs and snuggling for hours with my human dad on the sofa or the bed. When he sits on the floor with me, I love to lie across his lap and give kisses. I’m very loyal and doting with my human dad, with whom I’ve bonded tremendously, and I follow him everywhere. I’m respectful and trustworthy with children outside the coffee shop and on walks. A bonus is that I have a very soft mouth when I take treats and toys. Speaking of walks, I love them! But, True Confessions – I’m working on my leash manners so I don’t get overly stimulated by cats, squirrels, or certain other dogs. I really enjoy the company of most other dogs, whether playing or lounging around together.  Moderate exercise not only stimulates me physically but mentally too. I’ve been through obedience training and I “sit,” “down,” and “place” on command (for the most part). The trainer says that I’m a quick learner because of my treat-motivation. I’ve had a rotating cast of dog walkers, and they all applaud how people-friendly I am. With proper introductions, I meet new people and strangers easily – with the exception of people who ring that annoying doorbell. I’ve come a long way from when I was rescued at BARC, Houston’s City shelter. You know, there are advantages to adopting an adult dog like me who’s past the stage of puppy-craziness. I’m crate-trained and know how to use the doggy door. I’m not a digger and I don’t destroy anything that isn’t a toy -- other than a couple of pillows. I’ve been a loving adopted canine brother for many months but now my canine brother's anxiety has gotten worse, to the point where it is hard for us to be together therefore it’s better that I find a new home since he was here first.  So, I’m available for adoption again! If you’re looking for a big, gentle boy who’s a bundle of love, I fit the bill!! And I’m flexible – I can live in an apartment as long as I get adequate exercise or a home with a backyard for chasing the tennis ball.  I’d love to be the star of the show and get all of your love, i.e., not have to share you with another dog in the home, but I’d still like going to Day Care, the dog park, and play dates with my canine friends. Arrange to meet me, and remember, I’ve never met a stranger! Story
Adorable puppy Jason was found cowering in the bushes in heavy thunderstorm, when a patron of our rescue who was walking her senior yorkie, spotted him. Jason is now 14 weeks old, and very calm puppy, who just wants to please his human. He loves to be around his humans and wants nothing but affection. He is a very loving and velcro pup, good with dogs, cats, kids, people. Jason is 15 lb and growing. He is current on his shots, will be neutered in a couple weeks, and microchipped. He is crate trained although he is not a fan of the crate, he is puppy pad trained, and is learning to be housebroken, and he is kept on heartworm and flea preventative as well as deworming schedule. He is very easy to train, as he is extremely intelligent and loves to hear "good boy". In the right home, he will turn into a lovely adult pup. He lives with kids and brightens up when he sees his 10 year old human foster brother. Sweet Jason is being fostered in Texas, but can travel to any state, and even Canada for the right home. His adoption fee includes his neuter surgery, microchip, shots, deworming, heartworm and flea preventatives, and transport fee. To meet this gorgeous pup via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com Yards, if any, MUST BE adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences.
