Story
Meet Tank, a magnificent big boy who is eagerly awaiting his forever home! At the shelter, Tank's interactions with staff highlight his true, loving nature. He adores his stuffed toys and will hold one in his mouth with big tail wags when he's happy to see you. Tank loves to play tug and enjoys scratches, leaning against our legs like a big cat when receiving them, and rolling onto his back when he wants belly rubs.He can be stubborn at times but he is a sweetie that comes with a unique set of challenges that only add to his charm. Tank is ready to go into a loving home after fully recovering from an enucleation. He only has one eye, but still navigates his surroundings well, although he can be more sensitive to environmental stimuli. Tank is startled by fast moving vehicles and semi-trucks and is currently working on being able to tolerate them. He may occasionally jump towards them and because he is a strong boy, he will need a strong handler to take him on walks. Tank is still learning to get into kennels, crates, and cars, and we are diligently working on behavior modification using positive reinforcement to make these experiences more comfortable for him. His future family should be dedicated to continually working on these issues. High-value treats like chicken and Cheese Whiz have proven effective in helping to encourage him.He can be mouthy when excited, so practicing calm interactions with him and training will help him succeed in his new home. We are currently working with Tank on muzzle training, as it is a great skill to have. With continuous and consistent training, Tank is an amazing dog with lots of love to give. While we have not had the chance to test Tank's compatibility with other dogs, it is important to note that he has shown barrier reactivity towards the other dogs in our care. He also has a prey drive and will need a home with no other animals. Due to his specific needs, Tank would do best in a household without children. For the right person or family, Tank promises a heartwarming companionship like no other. If you're ready to open your heart to a big-hearted dog in need, Tank is waiting to become your loyal and loving companion!💙🐾Do you think you could be Tank's person? Here are some ways to find out:1.) Visit our centre to meet this pet during adoption viewings Friday to Tuesday noon to 3pm, learn more about their ideal match, and apply to adopt in person; or2.) Submit an online application adopt.spca.bc.ca and staff will contact the first suitable adopter to set-up a visit! Kindly note that due to the high number of applications and the availability of walk-in adoptions an online applicant would have to be available to come in for a meet within 24 hr. Hi everybody, great to emeet you! I am Amica, and here's a bit about me:Breed: Anatolian shepherdAge: 6 monthsGender: femaleWeight: 18 poundsHeight: 50 cm Aren’t, I just delicious??Rescued when I was only a handful of days old:, you will not believe this story. My rescuer heard crying puppy noises near a lake outside of a major city in the Middle East. When she got closer, she noticed me in the shallow part of the lake. She wasn’t sure what to do so she called a younger boy, who was nearby to come and help save me. She wrapped me up in a bundle, and took me home and cared for me. I was crying because I was clearly separated from my mom and was hungry and wanted milk. She prepared a bottle of milk for me and nursed me back to health.https://youtube.com/shorts/w_mMimKP2Dg?si=-8Q3455GuUOwyF3Q.I have been staying with her ever since. I am very playful and I absolutely love playing with my ball toys. I have heard there is no toy shortage in Canada! Being a playful puppy, that will be heaven.I get along well with everyone, woofers, peeps, meowies, grandmas, the whole sha-bang. I don’t have much to be afraid of, but when my foster mama shows me her extended finger, that’s when I know I have done something wrong and I don’t like that! So, I'll try to be really good. I walk quite well on leash (I’ve had a lot of practice.) I also I do my business on a pee pad.My foster mom and I are having a blast together, but her landlord has been getting complaints from the neighbors and I’m going to have to leave her soon. I will miss her because after all, she is my savior, but I’m also excited about the future prospects I have in Canada.I can’t wait to meet you so you can make my dreams of being a Canadian come true! Energy level: moderateI get along with:Dogs: yes, awaiting vidsCats: yesKids: unknown, rescuer states yes, awaiting vidsPrey drive: none observed. My adopter needs to be willing to train me should these behaviors arise. Fears: none observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Training: leash and pee padLeash training: yes. Health notes:I am too young yet to be spayed/neutered, but I am vaccinated and microchipped. Spay/neuter will be the responsibility of the adopter and is required for my adoption to be finalized. My adoption fee is 800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a fight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. [MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. [TURKEY] *Dogs receive 4D SNAP tests - which include: Heartworm, Ehrlichiosis, Leishmania and Anaplasmosis. ##1907355##

Story
Hello everyone, I'm Angelina and here is a bit about me:Breed: Anatolian shepherdAge: 4 monthsGender: femaleWeight: 12 poundsHeight: 40 cmHighlights: playful, loves kids, young & learning Adding Jolie at the end would be appropriate, because I am super pretty. That wouldn’t make me very one of a kind though now, would it?So this is my story. A wonderful lady found my brother and I taped up in a cardboard box outside of a pet clinic. She is thinking either our mom passed away or someone separated us from her. Nobody knows. Thankfully, she was walking her own dog, a beautiful Samoyed, when he started barking and leading her towards our box. She opened the box and found us packed in there. We were both very scared, but also very grateful to be found. She took us home and has been taking care of us ever since. We have been bottle-fed from the first day that we were found. It's been a couple of months that we have been able to eat solid food along with our milk. I am really looking forward to becoming a Canadian citizen soon and being the sweet little girl I am in a loving family.I am extremely playful, but I'm also a lady. I do like to play though, but I'm definitely the calmer sibling. Pretty much like human brothers and sisters.I get along very well with other dogs and with kids. I absolutely love children, because they like to play with me and I’m just a baby, so I love to play. I especially love playing with balls. I am currently staying in a boarding facility, so I am being socialized with other dogs as well as more people.I am really looking forward to a new family that will be able to keep me forever. I am hoping that you will be the one to make our dreams come true. Love, Angie. Story
Hello everyone! My name is Brad, and here is some info about me:Breed: Anatolian Shepherd mixAge: 4 monthsGender: maleWeight: 12 poundsHeight: 35 cmHighlights: playful, food motivated, dog interactive I was found in the Middle East by a very sweet lady and her Samoyed dog outside of a vet clinic. I was taped up in a box along with my sister. Thankfully, her dog was able to sniff us out and lead her to us. We were both crying, and were extremely scared. Clearly someone had separated us from our mom. The lady was thankfully able to take us back home and nurse us back to health. We were slowly introduced to solid food after a few weeks and we love it! Especially me! My sister is more of a lady. I honestly think deep down she loves the food as much as I do, but doesn’t like to show it.I am extremely playful and love playing with my ball. I sometimes like to play with my big brother (the Samoyed) but he’s usually not in the mood to play with me and like I said, my sister can be a little stuck up.I am scared of busy streets and cars. Can't blame me there, the cars zipping around are dangerous. With time and training that should improve though. I do know how to use a pee pad and have had a teeny bit of work on leash. I'm quite young, so will need full training yet.I love other dogs as you can see, I've had a lot of practice with my sister. https://youtube.com/shorts/v9KNuegdA5w?si=ReUELjDitm2dbXLp Love to have an opportunity to come to Canada!
