Story
>> Looking for a snuggly, smart, fun dog? Meet Fawn!! >> >> She is a precious young (estimated 2-3 years old) blonde Lab/husky mix who was stray in South Dallas area. Fawn has such an endearing personality- she is smart, very affectionate, loves to be social, and takes correction well while learning her manners. >> She entertains herself with a toys or a chewy, and is always eager for someone else to join her! She seems to love other dogs as well (small and large), but I would use caution while still introducing her to any other pets you have (as the case for ANY rescued pup!) >> >> Fawn has the cutest sploot and loves to lay with her legs froggy style on her belly. She will want to follow you around the house and snuggle up right next to you for belly scratches! >> >> She has been doing great at learning boundaries, has never had a potty/poop accident inside, and sleeps quietly through the night. She had been scared to go in a car, but has learned quickly car rides are fun, and now jumps freely into the car! It is unknown how she does with cats since finder/foster doesn't have them. She is hw+, but has been started on doxycycline and will start hw treatment very soon. >> >> Fawn is an amazing pup and deserves a loving home! Please consider giving this sweet girl her furever family! She's a vet & boarding favorite!! 50 pounds house trained Dog friendly

Story
Meet Troy Bolton!  He is  Athletic, Handsome and sometimes even shy!  He is about 2 years old and only weighs 30 lbs!  He needs a home and a yard with a fence like most dogs. He is good with dogs.  Currently he is with an older 10 lb female and plays well with same aged 60 lb dog!  Good with 14 yr old female – no younger kids in the Foster Family.  He is good in a car - he is finally getting used to it!  He is potty trained and doesn't mark. He is learning how to walk on a leash and getting better!  Troy would be best with older kids since he is not used to lots of noises. He is  skittish and shy. He is scared of everything inside and outside the house – almost as if he was just kept in a crate all day.  He needs an experienced dog family. He will warm up to you eventually if you sit on the patio step and let him come to you.  He needs to learn and trust and he wil and is with his foster family.  Once he warms up to you, he will play ball. He plays nice ball with the other 60 lb dog in the Foster Family – did not witness any aggression or fighting over the ball. He is still working on “drop it” but he will “sit” and wait for you to throw the ball – then he will fetch it. It would be ideal for him to have another dog to learn from and play with!   He is a sweet boy who is worth having a loving family love him and build his selfl confidence! ##1816160##

Story
Sonny is just starting to come out of his shell. He tells me that the shelter is a scary place, but that he's learning that the people at the shelter are nice to him and his brother. With time and TLC his true personality will shine. Sonny is a five month old 24 pound Carolina Dog/American Fox Hound mix that arrived at the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 3/20 along with his brother Sergio. He did stay close like a Velcro dog. He kept looking up to me wanting approval. He didn't appear to know the sit command, but backed up in an effort to please. He was highly motivated by treats and took them gently. Because he's so highly motivated by treats, he should be easy to train. He went after a ball but did not retrieve it. He's well mannered, calm, very sweet and loving, and obviously adorable! He could use some more practice on the leash. I had to do a lot of coaxing to get him out into the yard. He sniffed other dogs in kennels without a problem. He would love a yard to romp in but even more so he would love a pile of blankets or a lap to nestle in!

Story
Hi I am Bradley! I am a full of energy and a very loving dog. My master whom I love dearly must go to a retirement home and I can’t go. I do not understand what is happening to me and it makes me sad. Why isn’t he here? I am a Catahoula Pitt/Black & White. I love to play and will do so for hours if you have the time. I wouldn’t mind another dog as I grew up with a friend Bailey. She is a female neutered Great Pyrenes. She and I play for hours and hours and spend lots of time together. She and I are best friends, but I can’t go where she is going to live. I am housetrained, crate trained, and I love bones! I also love squeaky toys that are built to be chewed on. I am fully vaccinated and on heart worm medication Sentinel. My master took very good care of me and in returned I gave him all the love that I could ever give. Please I do not want to go to a shelter, so I am begging that you look at me and give me a forever home.

Story
Elliot is a gentle, loving, and friendly dog. She was a rescue from Guam when she was a puppy. She’s a mixed breed. She prefers to stay inside and cuddle and love on people. She’s fine with other dogs, but needs time to accept them as family. She doesn’t need time with people, she’s willing to love you immediately. She tolerates cats, but I haven’t owned a cat to know if she would accept one as family. Elliot is curious about new things and people in her home. She’s smart and easily trainable. She already knows basic commands, and can adapt to new commands quickly. She loves to lay near her people and be ready for pets at a moments notice.
