Story
** I am currently being housed at our Oglethorpe St location. Come meet me at 71 Oglethorpe St NW, every day between 12pm-7pm. Please arrive no later than 6:30 p.m. to allow ample time to interact with adoptable dogs. Or visit humanerescuealliance.org/how-to-adopt to learn more. Howdy! Vans is my name, and I am so wiggly and adorbs! I'm a compact cutie seeking love, fun and FOOD! See I arrived here so very skinny. I was ravenous and desperate for any meal. The good HRA people have been working their magic on me and I am so much happier with a full tummy. Now that I am feeling better, I am acting like a puppy and running happy zoomies everywhere. And do I love to PLAY! Do you like to play with cute doggies and be active? Great- we will get along perfectly. Now I can be a bit bashful at times so I will appreciate slow approaches. But once I am at ease, get ready....we are going places! So, come to HRA and ask for very good boy Vans. I can't wait to meet you!

Story
I'm in a FOSTER HOME! To meet me, email my foster parent at fosterdogparent22@gmail.com"Lyla" means "night" or "dark", but of course I am anything but. It also means "night beauty" though and that I am 100% With my gorgeous light brown fur and my radiant beauty, I will light up any room!I was found wandering the streets of our nation's capital alone and so a kindhearted person took me to the shelter. We don't know much about where I came from, but the humans here have given me thumbs up for how friendly and sweet I am, "easy to handle" they wrote in my notes -- and also "loves hot dogs" (which I consider the most important fact about me). I also had a couple of playdates with other pups and generally, I did very well. Sometimes, I got a bit tired after a while and had to tell the other dog to keep it down a bit. "Clear is kind" I told myself. If you need a night beauty to lighten things up a bit, just let the people around here know and they'll make sure I can go home with you today.

Story
According to his foster, 4 ½ year old mix of Carolina Dog and Shepherd named Butter is “exquisite!” What could she mean by that? First of all is his medium coat of red and gold that shines in the sun.  He weighs between 50 and 55 pounds and is quite trim at that.  His eyes are large, especially when they’re looking into yours.  What else? Butter is gentle and easy going. He always takes treats from your hand easily.  He enjoys going for walks and playing with tennis balls. He is sweet and enjoys giving hugs, being brushed, and receiving belly rubs! We love this boy!  (ME, 11//8/23)  (updates 3/11/24) **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption/Transport Fee:  $250.00April 17, 2024, 12:27 am
