Isabella was found wandering the streets of Okolona, Mississippi and taken into the rescue and immediately charmed everyone. She spent her day running with all the other dogs at the rescue and was a wonderful big sister to all the puppies. She is gentle and loving and will just make a wonderful family dog. Recently the rescue took Isabella into their cat house and she had no reaction whatsoever so we expect that she would be fine with kitties as well. Isabella has just arrived in the north east to a new foster home and she is doing great! She’s learning to walk on a leash and she is just a very loving and friendly girl. Wags is a licensed 501 C3 where one woman takes care of almost 150 homeless and stray dogs many of them have expensive medical needs.. He is a total love bug, covering his trusted humans with kisses and snuggling on the couch with them under soft blankets. Charles is very smart, learning new commands in no time and figures out his puzzle feeder quickly. He is fully house trained and very good in the crate, happily eating his meals there and sleeping through the night without a peep. Charles is from rural Kentucky so is not used to the city, and is working hard on being brave enough to go outside. He is currently very fearful of walking on the street and is instead getting used to his foster home’s quieter yard to go potty. He is slowly inproving but will require continued patience and would ideally go to a home with direct outdoor space to continue this training, or better yet a home in a less urban area. Charles seems friendly with other dogs and may benefit from a confident friend to help show him around.

Star was rescued in Louisiana. A lady that found her called me and said that she could not find a rescue group in Louisiana to take her. She had a gunshot wound through her jaw and ear. She was in pain. She brought her to me in Mississippi, and I got her the medical treatment that she needed. She had jaw surgery, and now her tongue permanently hangs out. We think this makes her uniquely special!! I know that her tongue hanging out may be a deterrent for a permanent home, but Star is such a sweet baby. She cannot help it that somebody shot her. She is a Catahoula hound, and her tail is docked. Star is a very sweet and loves to ride in the car. She loves dogs, and she loves children. She loves to roll over for a belly rub, and she knows the sit command. She is extremely smart. She loves to load up and ride in the car, and I believe that she was somebody’s baby at one time! Star has been in foster care and boarding for a while, and she wants a forever home! Also, if you live out of state, we use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport. We alternate between the Northeast and the Midwest every other weekend. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee.
