Although he looks incredibly cuddly, Maximoff is the type of dog that needs a lot of time and patience before he allows someone to touch him. It's not that he doesn't like scratches or being close to his people; he just needs to build trust in his new family first. You'll know of of you're effort is working when he chooses to sit next to you or asks for more treats with a nudge of his paw! Because of Maximoff's avoidance of touch and easily startled nature, he'd do best in a home without young children who are too much for him. Building a routine together, offering lots of tasty treats, and respecting his body language will be the number 1 way to Maximoff's heart! There may need to be some additional training and management for the separation stress he may experience when left by himself, but our adoption counsellors can offer lots of methods and tips.
