Story
Bandit is a 3 year old, male, long haired Chihuahua who is full size at 13 pounds. He came to us after his owner was no longer able to stay in their home. Bandit was shy at first but he has come around to being a social little guy. He doesn't mind living with other dogs but he prefers to play independently and more-so enjoys the company of people. Bandit loves being the center of attention and definitely has a Chihuahua attitude. He will be sure to alert you when he feels ignored or when anything is amiss. Bandit loves to eat and will gladly try a bite of whatever you are eating too. He especially likes eggs, vegetables and cheese. Bandit is pee pad trained and has recently started house training. He is still learning as going outside is very new to him. He gravitates towards women at first but does fine with men once he is adjusted. Bandit will need a home that is patient and understanding in the beginning as he learns to adjust to another new home. You're welcome to email the foster home with any questions at julianshumate@gmail.com. To meet or adopt Bandit you must first fill out an application here: https://humanesocietyofwilkes.org/adopt/application/julians. To ensure your application was received, please email the foster home. You can expect an email response within a week of applying.

Story
Boo is a 4 year old, female, smooth haired Chihuahua who is full size at just 8 pounds. She came to us with after her owner was no longer to stay in their home. Boo had a hard time adjusting in the beginning but is getting more comfortable everyday. She especially loves men and gravitates towards them first before women. While she has warmed up to her foster mom, she is definitely a daddy's girl in her foster home. Boo is a very typical Chihuahua, she is a homebody and has an attitude at times. She isn't bothered at all by other dogs, big or small, but can get jealous of her owner's attention. She also prefers to curl up on a dog bed or blanket than play with any of the other dogs. Boo is pee pad trained but is new to house training. She had never been outside before now and is still building up the courage to try something new. Boo would do best in a home with someone who is retired or home most of the time and is familiar with Chihuahua's. She will also need someone who understands that new places can be scary so she will be nervous and need time to decompress in another new home. You're welcome to email the foster home with any questions at julianshumate@gmail.com. To meet or adopt Boo you must first fill out an application here: https://humanesocietyofwilkes.org/adopt/application/julians. To ensure your application was received, please email the foster home. You can expect an email response within a week of applying.

Please read ALL of this listing prior to emailing with questions or inquiries. If you are interested in Coco and feel that you would be a good match for her, you MUST FIRST fill out and submit this application at: https://foreverhomek9rescue.org/adoption-application/ (copy and paste). After we receive your application and review it, we will contact you. Thank you! Coco is a tiny 6-lb., 2-year-old Chihuahua mix who is in search of her forever home. She is a timid little girl, but is very loving and affectionate when she feels comfortable in her new environment. We are looking for a new guardian for her who will take her out for walks and new adventures so she can be well socialized... not just a home where she will be home all day long. Being such a small dog, it should be easy taking Coco along on most outings. Coco gets along with the other small dogs in her foster home, but she barks at the big dog. We feel that she will do well in either a single-dog home or with another small dog. Coco's a little 'Velcro dog' and wants to be right next to her person or in their lap... and she loves giving kisses! Coco is housetrained and crate trained, but since she is such a small dog, she has to be let out often. A home with a fenced yard and someone at home during the day will be best for her. We feel it would not be advantageous for her to be in a crate while her family is at work during the day. In her foster home she sleeps in a crate, but we are sure that she would love to snuggle next to her new guardian in their 'big bed'. Coco is a very healthy little girl and is current on her Dist/Parvo and Rabies vaccinations. We also had her spayed, microchipped, and tested for Heartworms. She is on Heartguard for Heartworm prevention. Coco's adoption fee is $400.00 Coco is a loving, sweet, and smart little girl who deserves only the best home and family! If you feel that you would like to add Coco to your family, please submit an application at: https://foreverhomek9rescue.org/adoption-application/ (copy and paste). Forever Home Canine Rescue offers a three-week trial period with all of our adoptions, just to be sure that the pet is a good match for the adopting family. The fee is refunded if the adoption does not work out within the trial period. We want to be sure that each of our pets will have their perfect 'forever' home! Although Forever Home Canine Rescue adopts out-of-state, we never ship or transport our pets. An approved adopter must come to North Carolina to meet their new canine companion and then take him/her back home with them.

Story
Rosie is a sweet little 9lb chihuahua mix. She loves people and welcomes all the belly rubs and attention she can get! Rosie does well with older respectful children. Rosie does have a very slight limp, but that doesn't slow her down a bit! She loves to chase squirrels and run around the yard and play. Rosie loves other dogs and her ideal home would have another doggy playmate around her size. Rosie ideal home would have a fenced yard, but not required.. She is house broken, and a steady routine in her new home will help her stay on track. Rosie is a little love bug and always looking to please. She will make a wonderful addition to a loving home! Applications can be filled out at www.piedmontanimalrescue.com/adopt!  Petfinder and Adopt-A-Pet does NOT send us Applications.  We receive many applications and many never respond after processing GREATLY delaying the pets forever home.  Please only apply if you are serious about adopting.  Please also make sure your pets are up to date on you species applicable Vaccines (rabies, Distemper/Parvo, FVRCP, Bordetella), spayed/neutered, and on Heartworm prevention if a canine. The adoption fee includes their age appropriate vaccinations(DA2PP and Bordetella), Dewormer, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test as well as the registration of their microchip information to you. The first step to adopting is to fill out an application for adoption. Once approved we will arrange a time for you to meet the animal you are interested in. If it is a match the adoption can then be completed and you can take home your new furry family member. If it is not a match we will file your approved application and you can wait till you find the perfect match.     ##1959063##
