Story
My name is Biscuit. According to the veterinarian, I am one year old and I weigh 18 lbs. I'm a stocky little fellow, a little on the chunky side. I am neutered, up today on my rabies and dhpp vaccines, and I am heartworm negative . I am fostered in Danbury, North Carolina but easy, affordable transportation is available. I am neutered, up today on my rabies and dhpp vaccines, and I am heartworm negative. I have been surrendered to the rescue because my owners do not have time to spend with me. Because my owners are gone so long during the day, I am puppy pad trained. I will potty outside though if taken out. I am good with other dogs and children. I have been around toddlers and infants. I'm not sure about cats because the rescue does not have any. I will bark at a cat if I see one, but will stop barking after a few minutes. I love to play fetch and will bring back to you whatever you throw. I also love belly rubs and will roll over on command for one. I come when I'm called and I know how to sit. I will also walk on my hind legs for a treat. I walked on a leash for the first time for my video. As you can see, I did pretty good. I am very smart and I learn quickly. I love to be with people! I will follow my owner around the house and will snuggle up in the chair with him in the evening. I am very curious and attentive as to what my people are doing. I have I submissive temperament and a happy personality! I am well behaved in the house. I don't try to get in the trash or chew anything up. I have a medium energy level. I am a wonderful companion with lots of love to give! I'm ready and waiting to go to my new forever home! Email is the best method of contract. Story
Penny is a sweet and loving dog, she is always up for cuddling and sitting on the couch. She needs an owner that is able to be at home and show her attention. She takes to women more than men and would probably suit best with an older family that can provide one on one attention. She has no problem with other pets but doesn’t enjoy playing much with people or pets. Her favorite things are treats and snuggles and she will lay on your lap for hours.

Story
Sweet Buster - Buster was a last minute pull from the shelter because he was getting ready to be euthanized along with several others that had to be caught by animal control after their owner moved into a nursing home and none of them had been socialized or outside the home but out of all of them (we were able to save all 6 of them) Buster was the worst and the shelter could not lay their hands on him. I knew if given the proper time he would come around but he had to do it on his terms and that was never going to happen at a noisy shelter. So we loaded him up and I brought him home to foster. I gave him his space and time but would sit on the floor and talk softly to him - within 3 days he was taking treats out of my hand and by the end of the week he would crawl into my lap and lay upside down and want his belly rubbed. Today I can do anything to the little guy as I earned his trust and he will give that trust out but it will take just the right home that understands that Buster needs to do it on his terms and needs time and patience. The one thing we have learned is that Buster has a fear of men - he has been with me for months and still does not trust my husband but we know that before coming to the rescue there was a male family member that was not so kind to these dogs and Buster has not forgotten that - we are aiming to find him a home where there are no men in the house which we have done for a couple of our dogs over the years so we know it is possible. We feel like putting him in a home with a male figure is only going to make him stay on edge all the time and that is no way to live. He is a small little guy at 6 pounds and he is estimated to be a little over a year old. He has made leaps and bounds with his housebreaking but will need consistency and patience when going to a new place. He loves loves loves his toys and his cuddle round bed. He loves other animals and would benefit from another dog in learning the ropes. Buster will also require a fenced in yard as we feel that is best for him. While he has been around a child in his foster home and after time has done well - we do recommend no small children Buster is neutered, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, microchipped, current on heartworm prevention and flea/tick medication. His adoption fee is 250.00. If you are interested in Buster, please go to our website and fill out our adoption application - we will not set any meet and greets up until that application is filled out. We do require vet references and a home visit. Buster honestly is one amazing little dog and once you earn his trust - he gives you his whole heart and he is a total little love. He loves to be held like a baby and loves to have that belly rubbed. A lot of heart went into rehabbing this little guy so please read the description before filling out the application. We do not set our dogs up for failure and that is why we have certain requirements as they are with us 24/7 in our homes, so we know what would be the perfect fit for them.

Story
And another one of the three that were brought to our vets office to be euthanized for NO good reason is ready to find a home to call his own - little Chinto. Chinto is estimated to be 6 years old and weighs 16 pounds - a small little guy that is also mostly blind - but he can see shadows and has no issues getting around His foster Mom, Frances, has done a great job with him and here is what she thinks would make the best home for little Chinto: He prefers it inside and we think it is possibly because he lived outside his entire life before coming to the rescue - but this boy does love some sunshine on his face. The perfect situation for him would be an only dog home - he really just wants to be near his people/person - he is not really a cuddler or a lap dog but given time he may be but he wants to be in close vicinity of his people. He is not 100% housebroken but is doing so so much better - he is not a fan of the rain so those days can be challenging. . He would be great for a person that is just wanting a dog to keep them company as he would be perfect for that. He does fine being left alone and gets so excited regardless if it is 15 minutes or 2 hours - just super excited someone is back home. He had no idea what toys were when he came to the rescue but has learned to play with them and enjoy them. He also does well going for car rides Because he is mostlyd blind sudden movements can scare him - so we recommend no kids. He adjusted to his surroundings in his foster home quickly being blind so we know he will adjust to a new home quickly as well. We would prefer a fenced in yard for him This little man just needs a family to love and appreciate him, because he is a great little dog and for the first time in his life realized that life as a loved dog is pretty good and he is enjoying it If you are interested in adopting Chinto - please go to our website www.boxerbuttsandothermutts.org and fill out one of our adoption applications. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, has had bloodwork done, microchipped, dewormed, current on monthly heartworm prevention and flea/tick prevention and we got his ear issues that had been left untreated before coming to the rescue resolved. His adoption fee is $250.00. He is being fostered in Hendersonville,NC So if you are looking for some good company - look no further - Chinto is your guy for sure. As a reminder - we are volunteer based and work on processing the applications as soon as we get them but sometimes it is taking vets offices (yes we do reference checks) a couple of days to get back to us. We also require a home visit

Story
Our little man Toby is ready to find a family to call his own. Toby came to the rescue after he was dumped in the middle of nowhere and came to us severely emaciated and was heartworm positive - it did not take long to get him on the right track and his heartworm have been treated as well. Toby is estimated to be about a year old - he is currently 22 pounds and such an amazing little guy Here is what Toby's foster had to say about him: If you are looking for a sweet, loving , playful dog Toby is your guy. Toby is crate trained and house trained. He will get your attention when he needs to potty. He loves car rides and walks. We would recommend continued leash training and basic commands like stay as he can get over stimulated at times and forget to stay. Toby responds well to positive correction. Toby loves squeaky toys - his favorite is the Kong Action ball- he takes it to bed with him and brings it out when he wakes up. ( you should have back up spares - he can wear out a squeaker fast!) He really enjoys you to play with him , so don’t be alarmed by his vocals when playing - he thinks it’s fun and is his way of bonding with you. Due to his over stimulation at times and the way he plays, we would recommend no children under 10. A fenced yard is also needed as he is curious and likes to investigate the outside world. He is not a fan of loud sounds like fireworks, big dogs barking, loud yelling those things cause him anxiety and he will hide . (Cats are unknown) Toby rarely barks (talk about a perk for a small dog!) he would enjoy someone that is home and or works from home . Toby is just a super little companion who just wants to be around you and give a few kisses - yes he likes to give kisses too ! If you are interested in adding this precious boy to your family (and you won't be sorry) please go to our website www.boxerbuttsandothermutts.org and fill out one of our adoption applications - We do NOT set up meet and greets until the application has been received and reviewed. We do vet references and home visits. Toby's adoption fee is $250.00. He is current on vaccines, neutered, microchipped, current on heartworm prevention and flea/tick prevention, dewormed, has had a full bloodwork panel done. He si so ready to add a last name to his and have a family to call his own Don't wait - get that application in

Story
So our little chi-weenie pups - well simply said they are precious and we are going to start taking applications on them . First up is Titan - Estimated to be 10 weeks old and a little guy at 5 pounds - he is a sweetie - a little shy but once he cuddles in your lap he will just melt. We do not expect these dogs to be big dogs. At his age he is not completely housebroken but with patience and consistency he will get it quickly. Does great with other dogs and that little face will just melt your heart. Someone else's trash as they were dumped puppies is going to be someone else's treasure. His adoption fee is $250.00 - this includes the rescue paying for all his puppy vaccines until he is 4 months old as well as his Rabies vaccine, he is dewormed twice now, current on heartworm prevention, microchipped and the rescue covers his neuter and pre-surgical bloodwork. If you are interested in adopting Titan, please go to our website www.boxerbuttsandothermutts.org and fill out our adoption application . As a reminder we do not have a facility and all of our dogs are in private foster homes throughout Western North Carolina and Upstate SC - a meet and greet is NOT set up until the application is filled out and reviewed - we do check vet references and we do a home visit. So lets get this little guy shared and into a forever home so he can bring a lot of happiness to some very lucky family
