Story
Peabody's journey began when he was discovered as a stray, wandering the streets alone. After spending five days in "doggie jail," he found his way to the rescue  in search of a loving forever home. This charming pup is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on all his vaccinations, ready to embark on the next chapter of his life. Described as a good boy with a heart full of love and energy, Peabody thrives in the company of an active family who can provide him with plenty of attention and playtime. He's adept at navigating the ins and outs of home life, being house, crate, and doggie door trained. While he hasn't been tested with cats, he's known to get along well with female dogs. However, Peabody does have a tendency to engage in fence fights with other dogs in his vicinity, which may require some training and supervision to manage. Despite this challenge, his affectionate nature shines through, making him a delightful companion for the right family. Since October of 2022, Peabody has been patiently waiting for his perfect match at the rescue, eager to find a forever home where he can shower his new family with love and joy. ##1563395##

Story
Rolly revels in having his belly rubbed while holding a tennis ball in his mouth! Still very much a puppy at the age of one, he’s 40 pounds of sweetness, friendliness and happiness once he feels comfortable around new people. Supremely loving towards his foster dad, he adores being the object of his attention, wants to be near him at all times, snuggling and cuddling, resting his head on him and sleeping on him. Blessed with the widest and warmest smile, Rolly also loves being outside, going for walks, runs and hikes, playing fetch and engaging with other equally friendly dogs. Passionate about PLAYING, he LOVES tennis balls and toys, particularly small plush toys, is, not surprisingly, motivated by toys and love, and currently knows “sit” and “no.” Never crated, at work on his puppy manners and house-training, Rolly relishes the idea of life in an extremely loving home, preferably with older children, that will polish his manners, complete his training, including his commands, and keep him happily active fur-ever.   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application received in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all DAPP boosters after adoption. Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for any rabies vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls at this time.PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member! Story
HOMEOWNERSHIP REQUIRED! Meet Colin the Collie, the perfect Colorado family adventure dog. Having just arrived from Texas, this 55lb, 4 year old collie mix truly is the dream dog. Not to brag but this beautiful boy is great with other dogs, calm and friendly with humans of all ages, crate and house trained, perfect on leash, great in the car, sleeps soundly overnight in his crate, and is just all around so calm and easygoing. His foster parents say he’s the best dog they’ve had! Ready for any adventure, this boy would love to join you for a hike or just a run around the backyard. And when playtime is over, he’s the sweetest guy, happily settling in near you to rest. Colin would fit into any family with such ease and so many good boy skills. The toddler he lives with can make her opinions known loudly and unexpectedly and that never phases him. When she cries, he goes to check on her - if she wants kisses and comfort, he’s her guy. But if she says no and wants space he listens right away. He’s always ready to play with the resident dog but follows her lead, showing the most respect. We can’t think of anything more you’d want from a dog! Colin is neutered, microchipped, up to date on all necessary vaccines, and will receive heartworm treatment at the full expense of the rescue. Apply today to make your family complete by adding Colin to your life! Adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter Rabies Vaccination Distemper / Parvo Vaccines (includes series of 3 for puppies) Bordetella Microchip with prepaid lifetime registration Deworming ##2005783##

A COMPLETED APPLICATION IS OUR FIRST STEP TOWARD ANY PLACEMENT.  YOU WILL FIND THE APP ON OUR WEBSITE AT www.colliesheltierescue.org.  WITHOUT ALL OF THAT INFORMATION, WE HAVE NO PLACE TO START A CONVERSATION. If you close your eyes and wish for a big, magnificent, glorious Collie to be in your arms and in your heart.....this is Rowan. Rowan is a six-year-old neutered male rough coated Collie.  He has known nothing but love and kindness since he was a puppy.  His owner has made the very difficult decision to rehome Rowan because of living circumstances.  She is putting the needs of her dogs ahead of her own.  As you will see in Rowan's photos, he is the quintessential Collie.  Handsome, trusting, loving, playful and HUGE.  At this point in time, he weighs 113# but he should trim down to 100# with some more activity.  And he needs to be super active. We will not consider any placement where Rowan will not get the absolute best of everything.  He needs a young family, one where he takes the kids to school and runs with mom and helps with the laundry and errands and picks the kids up from school and plays until dinner time and then helps with homework.  You get the picture?! As stated previously, a completed application is our first step toward any placement.  Please read the section on our basic requirements.  And wrap your brain around a giant Collie (or two) being your next best friends.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 18, 2024, 10:48 pm
