Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi, my name is Bannon.  I was born somewhere around Christmas in 2020, am a Collie/Shepherd mix, and weigh about 55lbs. Another interesting fact about me is I weaned 11 puppies!   I am working on walking on a leash, but my preference is a large fenced back yard. I need exercise, so please plan to take me on long walks/runs or a good playtime in the backyard a couple times a day.     I have a few things that I am working on. One is I'm mouthy with people. I'm not trying to bite you, but my excitement overtakes me sometimes. My foster family is working on me getting a stuffie when I start to go over threshold. So, having a lot of toys around for me is important to keep on this training. I also am jumpy. So, probably no small kiddos for me. Both behaviors are common in younger dogs and tend to subside with constant training .   I am crate trained when my people are home so if I truly need a break, that is a safe place for me to rest. When you are away, I am not a huge fan of the crate but have not ever broken out of it. I do bark a little in the crate, especially when I know you are home.     The biggest consideration a potential adopter for me should have is my boundless energy. Being a running partner would be a dream come true for me. Otherwise, a fenced in yard where I can endlessly play fetch would be wonderful. I'm also very smart, so if you're looking for a dog to impressively train or teach a job to, I'm your gal!   One other thing to note is that I'm selective with my dog friends. It is probably best that I am an only dog in the home due to this. I also have a bit of a prey drive so no cats or small critters in my house as well. Do you have a home that can give me all the attention I need!? If so, please apply! NOTE: Bannon tested positive for Lymes Disease. This is a tick borne illness that is relatively common in dogs who live in states where ticks are more prevalent. Most dogs live their whole lives with no issues or flare ups caused by these diseases. It is important that Bannon's adopters know what symptoms to watch for when a flare-up occurs so she can be put on meds to keep it at bay. The treatment for this is a 30 day course of Doxycycline, a relatively inexpensive antibiotic. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal? Please go to our website www.wagsmn.org and fill out an Adoption Application.  Once the application is processed, a Wags representative will contact you, answer any questions you may have, and set up a time/location for a meet and greet!  A home visit is required prior to adoption.  Thank you for choosing to adopt! Breed and temperament determination:  Wags & Whiskers Animal Rescue attempts to determine breed and temperament using a combination of looks, information provided to us at intake, and our experience with the animal while in our Rescue.  We do not guarantee this determination. Story
Name: Starbuck Breeds: Your guess is as good as ours! Age: Adult Sex: Female Size: Large All the single puppers! (All the single puppers) All the single puppers! (All the single puppers). Now put your paws up! Sometimes we are baffled by the dogs that end up in rescue. Meet Starbuck! Starbuck is 2-3 years old (what is your best guess at dog breed? She looks like she might have some pittie, but other than that, we've not a clue). She was an unclaimed stray, who was clipped by a car and escaped with only a broken dew claw (completely vet checked). We fully expected her to be reclaimed with how sweet and in good shape she is, but no one ever called or came looking for her. Starbuck is a friendly, medium energy dog, who strolled right into the house and plopped herself down on the dog bed like she owned the place. But she did it in such a way that the other dogs in the house didn't object. She completely ignored the cats. She was introduced to horses and, while surprised, took it in stride. She isn't perfect on the leash, but new areas and smells are hard to pass up. She will improve with practice, we expect. No accidents in the house so far and she is great in the crate! This dog has a quiet confidence that is wonderful to see! She is curious about everything but not alarmed. Whatever her background is, she appears to know all about being a house dog with other animals. So if you like it, then you should put a leash on it! Requirements: No special requirements Adoption Fee: $500 + tax. This includes neuter/spay, current vaccinations as age appropriate, heartworm/tick testing in dogs over 8 months of age, deworming, microchip and current Heartgard and Nexgard preventatives. Yes About Lizzy: Meet Lizzy, the lovable, eager to please cuddly giant who's more playful than a puppy at a tennis ball factory! This four-legged furball is the epitome of charm and charisma, with a heart as big as her wagging tail. Lizzy isn't just your average pooch; she's a certified professional in the art of snuggling. If cuddling were an Olympic sport, she'd take home the gold medal every time. Her idea of a perfect day? Burying herself under a pile of blankets with her favorite humans nearby, ready to shower her with belly rubs and ear scratches. But don't let her gentle demeanor fool you; Lizzy's got some serious energy to burn! She's always up for a game of fetch or a romp around the yard with her furry friends. In fact, she's such a social butterfly that she's never met a cat or dog she didn't like. She's dreaming of a forever home with an active family and a spacious yard where she can run and play. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hey there, I'm Ivory, your potential new best friend! I'm a Shepherd Mix, a 45lb puppy with a heart full of love. At home, I'm a bundle of joy—I love to play and cuddle. Kids are my favorite playmates, and after a day of fun, I'll happily snuggle up with them for belly rubs and kisses.   I could be your one and only, soaking up all the attention, but I also get along great with other dogs, especially if they're up for a good play session. Crating isn't my favorite; I'd rather be spreading my love with a WFH human and in a forever home with no shared walls (bark bark). My favorites? Give me any stuffies, squeaky toys, or anything we can use for a game of keep away, and I'm in doggy heaven. I'm doing great with potty training and am good about going outside. While I'm not a fan of the crate (I might bark a bit), I'm a pro on a leash, responding to commands like Sit, Down, and Come. Here's the scoop: I'm the best doggo, according to my foster family. They'd keep me if they could. I'm incredibly sweet, fantastic with everyone, and my fluffy coat makes me the perfect snuggly friend! Ready for adventures? I'm your girl! *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
