Story
Dixie is the sweetest dog and it absolutely breaks my heart to lose her. However, what is best for her is what is truly important and she needs more room to be herself. I marked “behavioral issues” because I didn’t know what else to mark. She likes to bark……mostly at night when the raccoons and possums are stirring around and trying to eat her food and that makes the neighbors upset. We have a small home with a small backyard and she seems happy enough but when I have to bring her in at night now as to not keep everyone up, and I understand we all need sleep, she is so miserable in here. Dixie deserves the very best. She has never tried to bite anyone, she loves pets and kisses, she hates riding in a vehicle that’s why she hasn’t been fixed. She is a great all round dog and you’d fall in love immediately.

Story
Mr. Sandman Located oak ridge tn Hes 1 year old now. we took him in august 2022… he was only 4ish weeks old. his brothers been adopted, and we just don’t understand how he’s still available. He’s very submissive, he even does this submissive smile when he wants your attention 🤣 (all my fault he does this all the time bc I would baby him and praise him everytime he smiles, it’s just too cute🤣) Needless to say, he’s good with other dogs, cats he’s had little exposure to but truthfully don’t see any issues and we would definitely want him to meet the kitties before any adoption trial starts! He’s great with kids!! With our new adoption policy, we only adopt out dogs to families with kids 10+ We also saftey seat belt or crate our dogs when traveling, and he does great on just a saftey harness or in a crate! He’s neutered, fully vetted, chipped, and on preventions! Fill out an application today to meet our boy sandman!

Story
Fostering in Tennessee Here's the link to our adoption application: https://form.jotform.com/201317338010137 Our sweet girl Liberty was found as a stray in Mississippi. She is now on the search for her forever home. Something awful happened to Liberty in the past that caused her foot to be dislocated. She has seen our veterinarian and a specialist that both agree this happen a while ago. At this point, it is best to just leave it alone. While she will not be running any marathons or hiking for miles and miles at a time, she has adapted to it being that way, and gets along in life just fine. Liberty is a sweet girl that gets along with most everyone. She loves toys, treats and as many belly rubs as you can give. She is a laid-back girl that just enjoys life with her family. Liberty is house and crate trained and does pretty well with general manners. She is looking for a home that can allow her to live out the rest of her life in peace and relaxation. If this sounds like your home, use the link below to apply. Our fosters and adoption coordinators are the backbone of what we do. Our fosters work tirelessly to integrate our rescue animals into their home, so that we can provide as much information to potential adopters as possible. In addition, our coordinators offer as much information regarding the medical and behavioral and personality characteristics as is known to our organization. Without them, and our extremely generous donors, we would not be able to save as many animals as we do every day. With each adoption, we operate a Pay It Forward program, whenever possible, to help other animals in our rescue and future animals in need. If you are interested in one of our animals, please complete an application. The application link can be found on our Petfinder homepage under the picture. You may also find our application on our website at www.petmatchmakerrescue.com under the Adopt page. If they are listed on our website, their adoptions have not been finalized yet. That does not mean that we have not received several applications, already. Please complete an application if you are interested and we will keep you apprised of their current status. We are all volunteers that work full-time jobs, so please be patient with us. We will get back with you as quickly as possible. If you are interested in fostering for our organization, please complete an application. The application link can be found on our Petfinder homepage under the picture.
