Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $700   Aerosmith is a 6 month old Corgi mix who “Don’t Want to Miss A Thing” with his forever home! Aerosmith toured the local shelter circuit before he landed in our rescue through no fault of his own. His former home decided they were no longer interested in a puppy so away he went. Well, we promised him that he would never be forgotten again and scooped him right up. For those who love the goofiness and antics of the Corgi breed, you won’t find better representation than Aerosmith. He promises a lifetime of adventures and cuddles ahead for the home lucky enough to take him home!   Aerosmith is an energizer bunny who has so much love in his body it is practically bursting out of him! He instantly charms anyone who meets him, whether human or dog. He adores his foster sibling and spends his days chasing her around as they play with toys and balls. He would love a home that is ready for a life of adventure and excitement, as he has an explorer nature and a love for trying new things. Aerosmith adores every toy but has an affinity for mini tennis balls (though he is still working on fetch). Aerosmith is very handsome and has that sought after Corgi body. He is long and low ladies! He doesn’t let his status as a short king keep him down though, as he wiggles his way into the hearts of his admirers. He has the best chicken leg scratchy spots and will melt into your lap when you sit down to dote on him like he deserves.  Aerosmith wakes up around 7 AM with a wagging tail and a smile on his face. He soaks up kisses and pets while his breakfast is served and then happily eats his first meal. After he eats, he heads outside for some play and potty time, romping around with his canine foster siblings. Throughout the day, Aerosmith alternates between playing, zooming, and napping. What could be better? He gets a walk in the afternoon and works on his leash skills as he sniffs around the neighborhood. Dinner is at 6 PM followed by more playtime in the yard. In the evening, Aerosmith gets his cuddles in before he heads out for one last potty session before bed.  Aerosmith adores dogs and would love a canine sibling in his forever home. He has met a cat and beyond some barking he left her alone. He will need a home prepared to continue his training as he is still a puppy and needs a routine to help him thrive. Are you ready for this rockstar to join your backing band?    Aerosmith is only an option for homes with prior dog experience. Interested homes should be prepared for the activity level of a young pup. Kids in the home should be over the age of 8.March 27, 2024, 7:47 pm

Story
Pembroke Welsh Corgi Mix Age: Senior Male, neutered 20 lbs Adoption Fee: Donation (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Llew was picked up by animal control off the streets of Hayward. He was unable to use his back legs. Otherwise he seemed in fairly good shape. He must not have been on the streets for long. It is suspected that he had a back problem (IVDD) that was never treated. He has responded well to anti-inflammatory and pain medications. He has gained some use of his back legs (he can stand and walk a few steps). He has been in physical therapy for a few months. UPDATE: With diligent persistence from his foster home, Llew is walking again on his back legs. He is a little wobbly, but he is using his back legs all the time - no more dragging. For all he has been through, he has an excellent demeanor - very friendly, very loving. He can come off as a little “pushy” to some dogs, but overall he gets along well with all the dogs in his foster home. He needs a home with no stairs, and where someone is home most of the time. He would prefer a home with another friendly dog. Nobody’s Perfekt Dogs is willing to assist with his vet costs, if needed. Even though he has regained the ability to walk with his hind legs, the jury is still out on whether he has control of his bladder and bowels. He appears to pee when he goes outside, but he doesn't stop and pee. Similarly, he doesn't stop and poop - it just comes out when it is ready. Story
Fubao was rescued from a detention center in China. He's overall playful with people but probably need to learn to play with other dogs more. He is a bit leash reactive but he will continue to improve overtime. He would need an experienced adopter who understands his needs and be able to work with him on these things as he probably never had the right training when he was younger. He does resource guard as well but he's gotten better as he settles in the new environment. SF Bay Area only.
