Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Butterball is shy and standoffish with new people but does warm up with a few treats and pets. Once she has decided you are ok she likes to give kisses and enjoys snuggles. Butterball is overweight but a smaller dog a Welsh Corgi mix that is 2 years old. Butterball came to the rescue with Rocky after their owner passed away. Butterball and Rocky do get along well and might like to be adopted together but would also be good adopted separately. Butterball does get along with other dogs and enjoys a game of chase. She gets along with cats as well and ignores them unless they get near her and then she shows them respect for the damage a cat can do to a dog her size. Butterball does not like to be crowded or shoved (who does?) when this happens she will leave the situation to escape. She rides well in a car. Butterball is not a fan of being picked up and will let you know. Butterball is a loving companion that needs a patient person to let her shine. If you are interested in Butterball fill out an application.  Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all ogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost. Story
Carly here, a 5 year old, 47 pound (yes I'm a little chubby), Corgi mix. I come from a home that had little kids and they didn't know how to be the nicest to me so I found this rescue to help me find a new home. I have been doing well in this foster home playing with other dogs and cats too! I am enjoying the safe fenced yard where I can enjoy the sunshine and playing. Carly is crate and potty trained, knows several commands, and does well on leash. Carly would do well with older children who give her proper attention. She is described by her foster as "She is very affectionate, loves to cuddle close to her people. She listens very well, comes immediately when called and stops any behavior if you tell her no or stop. She has never had a potty accident in the house and lets you know when she needs out." If you think this gorgeous girl would fit perfectly in your home, follow the link below to complete the needed ADOPTION APPLICATION. **PLEASE NOTE: Applicants must live within an hour radius of Toledo, Ohio. *Carly is spayed, microchipped, current on shots, and on monthly preventatives for heartworm/fleas *Her adoption fee is $300.00 *Visit our link to find the ADOPTION APPLICATION needed to start your chance at giving Carly her forever home ADOPT HERE: http://www.dogworksohio.com/adoption-application.html

Story
Meet Spice! He is a 2 year old adventure seeker and cuddle bug mix that will keep a smile on your face and laughter in your home.   He loves his foster family so much!  Most of all, he loves playing fetch and running around the yard, with his teenage human foster brother, then cuddling on the couch together. He even likes to play in the lake with a few furry dog  friends.   He seems to prefer being an only dog. However, he has had some positive experiences after a slow introduction. He enjoys going for walks and runs! Spice loves to learn and is eager to please you… so be prepared with treats. Also, Spice keeps his crate clean while his foster family is at work. We do not have a facility for you to visit.  WE PROCESS APPLICANTS AND SET APPOINTMENTS BASED ON THE ORDER APPLICATIONS ARE RECEIVED , so while you are welcome to email  ccrcdogs@ccrcdogs.com with specific questions, you will want to complete the  ONLINE APPLICATION ASAP ,  which can be found at www.ccrcdogs.com, to secure your position in line for one of our dogs. You can also find  a description of our process on that same page. Puppies will not be available to be seen until their 10 day quarantine has passed. Our adoption fee is $220 for adults, $295 for puppies (under 6 months), and $150 for seniors (8 yrs and up) which covers the cost of the spay/neuter, age appropriate shots and tests, medications to bring the dog to full health, and a free visit with one of our approved vets after adoption. The majority of dogs at CCRC are obtained from animal control centers, so there is often very little known about their history or even current habits. You can always expect to do some training, regardless of whether you adopt a dog or a puppy, including crate training, house training, and basic manners. CCRC provides a variety of materials and resources to assist you with this, as well as telephone support.   April 15, 2024, 5:24 pm
