Story
Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue: 12/2/2023 Reason for being in rescue: owner release to shelter/owner having life problems and can't keep Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Ash is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Weight: 21 lbs Height: 15 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $200 Fence needed? No, but a fenced yard would make her happy and give her space to zoom around. What kind of home would be best for me? Ash is a girl full of energy, life, and love. Being that she is a full energy girl, Ash needs a high energy family. She would love to go on hikes, jogs, and runs with you, even a little biking if you don't go too fast for her. She also needs a family that can train her in commands such as sit, stay, down, come, the basics. We expect her to be a quick learner because she loves to please, especially with the attention that brings. A high energy home with children aged 10+ would be ideal, as most younger children haven't learned that dogs aren't like stuffed animals. A fenced in yard is not needed but when her humans are tired, and Ash still wants to play it would be a great place for her to tire herself out. What is my personality like?  Ash is the life of the party.  She runs around like the Tasmanian Devil in those Bugs Bunny cartoons. She's not wreaking havoc like he does as she flits around from dog to dog and person to person, urging them to play with her.  She just wants everyone to have a blast and enjoy life as much as she does. When playtime is over Ash is more than happy to snuggle and cuddle with you. You supply the pets and she'll supply the kisses. Ash is fine with both dogs and cats but being so active she at times may annoy older dogs, and some cats. When they give her a warning she is quick to back off, so the situation doesn't escalate. Her new owner will have to teach her how to be a good girl on a leash while walking. How do I act when I first meet new people? Ash doesn't know the word stranger. And stranger danger? Please.  It's the stranger who will be in danger as Ash dashes to them with a warm tail wagging and happy welcome. She will jump up on folks. Other tips and tidbits: Our vet estimates Ash's birthdate to be 11/29/2018.  Ash's breed is just a guess. She looks like a tiny, dainty little fox.  She's just gorgeous but yes - she will shed.   House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. April 24, 2024, 10:53 pm

Story
This little boy was abandoned in a park so I took him in to prevent him from going to a shelter. He is an absolutely wonderful boy! I got him fully vaccinated, heartworm tested, neutered and microchipped. He will be neutered at the end of May. He’s quiet, calm, sweet, and playful. He loves to watch nature, take naps and go for walks. He’s terrific with my two Boston terriers. He’s now housebroken and crate trained. He enjoys small stuffed toys with squeakers. When he’s super happy he does puppy laps! He likes to cuddle but is happily independent too. He has never shown any aggression. He likes someone to sit with him while he eats. He does get car sick easily. I can’t for the life of me understand why someone would dump him! We can only have two pets or I would keep him. He’s a perfect little dog! He’s estimated to be a year old because of his pearly white teeth. He weighs 21 pounds and is a cute little low rider.
