Story
Emmitt is a miracle case for Bonaparte's Retreat! He came to us March 31st, 2023 emaciated, extremely malnourished, unable to walk or hold his head up. He spent 10 days in the hospital and, after being discharged in to the care of wonderful fosters, is making a MIRACLE recovery! Emmitt now walks, runs, plays, holds his head up high, eats like a champ, and is OBSESSED with car rides and LOVES to be outside going on adventures! We don't know much about Emmitt's past, but we do know he had to have been dumped at a local church because he was unable to walk at the time he was found. He looked like a dog that had never beed fed and never been shown attention and may have been left curled up in a crate or kennel for months or years. So Emmitt is still quite wary of new people and dogs but we are working on it! He has so much love to give and has totally come out of his shell BUT the scars he has run deep so he needs to be shown that people can be good and that he can be loved. He IS loved by not only his fosters but an entire community that has rallied around this guy! We feel like Emmitt may be ready to start the process of meeting a new family, but in order for him to feel comfortable it will probably have to happen in a few stages. But for the right family willing to show him patience and love he will be amazing!April 9, 2024, 11:21 am
