His owner/parent works too much and has low capacity for the training and support he needs. This little guy would thrive somewhere with a yard and humans who have the time to nurture him properly. Rehoming him is one of the hardest decesions ever made but was done with a lot of love and thought about what's best for him and everyone in his current home.

My name is Sweet Pea and I am truly a sweet little pea!  My story began about 5-6 years ago when I came to live with a family who had way too many dogs.  They could not afford to spay and neuter and so a lot of us had puppies over and over.  Now I am with Critter Cavalry Rescue  and they promised me a better family life ahead.  I am a Dachshund/Terrier mix and I weigh 22 lbs and could probably walk a few pounds off this Spring and Summer with an active and fun person that would adopt me.  I was terrified beyond words when I first moved from my overcrowded home to this nice new foster house.  But soon I have realized I am safe and well fed and that these people are very stable and will get me to the vet when I need to go.  I am housebroken, ride just fine in a car and I am going to love to sit on your lap and make you feel loved and cherished by ME!  I do not like to walk on a leash.  I can learn if you are patient to teach me but I think I initially need to go to a home with a fenced yard and then learn how to walk nicely there in the backyard.  It is not biggie but right now it kind of isn’t a fav thing to do.  Other than the leash, I am pretty perfect!  I am healthy and I love to give kisses and adoring looks to my fav humans.  If you want to invite me to come live with you please email ccrnewengland@gmail.com   I am ready to pack my bags! This little pretty chocolate dappled girl is called Mazie and goodness what a cracker jack she is.  Don’t for minute let those green eyes and chocolate marbled coat fool you to think she is gentle or easy.  She is the CEO of dogs and will run the show at your house if given the chance.  Mazie is 20 pounds and 9 months old.  She is a breed mix of Dachshund and Basset Hound we are told.  Her pics make her look big but she is a “tiny but mighty” little girl.  Mazie is not a fan of any other female dogs in her life or around her.  We don’t know where that came from but the dislike is there so we say…don’t ignore the warning.  She is great with big male dogs, not good with other small dogs or cats, but loves people deeply and wants to be around them.  She needs a fenced yard because she is a runner as most Dachshunds can be and she needs to be able to run and play and get her energy out daily.  Older children would be better for her and she is crate trained, 90% housebroken and she adores going for walks; a very good girl on a leash we can say.  She is beautiful but a “tad” bit complicated, which is why we have outlined the Likes and Dislikes of this girl to a TEE!  We want the right and perfect home and there are lots out there that can give her that.  Tiny but Mighty little Mazie is ready for a home NOW!  Please email us at Critter Cavalry Rescue : ccrnewengland@gmail.com  Tell us where you live when you email asking for information and an application. Meet Leo! Leo is a real love bug…and is super smart, too! Leo is house trained, rides well in the car, and knows how to sit and shake hands. He learned how to use the doggy door in minutes. He loves hanging out on the porch and has quickly learned not to bark at strangers!  Prior to being surrendered to PAR, Leo was very well loved and spent his life as an only dog. Therefore, it did take him a few days to get comfy with the other dogs in his foster home—but now he is doing just fine! He bonded immediately to his foster dad and really loves kids.
