Email:  ddrtxinfo@gmail.com                 Primary Website:  www.DDRTX.org Bonded with Holly Bea - Bonded pairDouble Dapple Chip may be blind and mostly deaf, but with his absolutely precious “seeing eye” sister, Holly (also a double dapple) there to help him, he’s close to perfect!  these two are friendly, gentle, loving, kissy, and soak up the attention.  One would have a hard time realizing he’s vision impaired as he easily discovered his “space” and can go in and out the dog door just perfectly fine.  If you have a smaller yard, and a dog door, he’ll easily learn how to maneuver and Holly will help him (and you!) immensely. they are as loving as they are gorgeous!  Please consider offering these two a place in your home for the rest of their days so that they can live life with comfort, security, and lots of snuggles.  Chip is 13 years old. Chip and Holly are a bonded pair, thus they need to be adopted together!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Love dachshunds and not ready to adopt or circumstances won't permit having a dog?  How about being a sponsor or making a donation.  Every one of our dachshunds receives excellent medical care along with day to day food, love and housing.  Being non-profit, we rely on generous individuals like yourselves to help save these fur babies.  You can do this specifically for one dog with the sponsor button on their webpage or a general donation on our “How To Help” page.  Easy and quick through Pay Pal or your debit/credit card.  You generosity is sincerely appreciated by all and is tax deductable.  Need other ideas?  You'll find tons of them on the How to Help tab.  All contributions are tax deductable.   Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization with focus on rescue and adoption of pure breed Dachshunds.  All dogs are fully vetted and housed on private property.  Meetings are scheduled upon adoption approval.  Thank you for your continued support to the rescue and shelter communities!  Opt to Adopt!         April 25, 2024, 10:23 am

Email:  ddrtxinfo@gmail.com                 Primary Website:  www.DDRTX.org Maya Butterscotch is a spunky, happy, friendly little dachshund basset mix.  She loves meeting new people and making new dog friends.  She even has a kitten foster sister that she will cuddle up with.  She loves playing fetch, tug-of-war, and chase.  She's a very good companion to watch tv with, play video games with, or to read a book with. Maya is a special needs little girl.  She was paralyzed from an accident when she was only a few months old.  But that doesn't stop her from running around, she just uses her front legs instead of all four!  She has even been known to race in local dachshund races! Maya will be getting an upgraded 4-wheel cart to help her get around.  She uses diapers and will need help expressing her bladder but she doesn't fuss about it and knows the routine. Maya is looking for a home that understands her special circumstances.  She loves to play and having a playmate would be wonderful, but she is also good at being a single dog.  She loves humans of all ages!  If you are looking for a sweet cuddle bug, put in your application today!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. I know you haven't... because you haven't met ME! I  am happy to meet you, my name is Kai Charles and here's some stuff you should know about me. When you get home, I am happy to see you! I'm happy in the morning & I'm also happy in the evening. I'm very happy at breakfast and at dinner time, too. I'm happy in the car and I'm happy to walk... even if you need to tug my leash a little bit if I stop (have you ever sniffed some of the stuff on walks? You'd be amazed and want to stop, too!). Netflix and chill? I'm a happy dog just sitting next to you, especially if you share your snacks with me! I'm happy to sleep in the big bed and I'm happy to sleep in a pen... with a buddy, not alone. Notice, I said pen, not crate, this pup has his limits. I'm happy at breakfast and I'm happy at dinn- wait, did I mention that already? As you can see, I'm a happy camper... whatever that is. My foster mom, though, thinks I'd benefit from a basic training class, but I don't know what she's talking about. It's not easy to contain all this happiness. Honestly, I  can't wait to meet you! It would make me so happy!!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Email:  ddrtxinfo@gmail.com                 Primary Website:  www.DDRTX.org     PLEASE NOTE:  Bella gained 8 pounds since she was adopted and came back to DDRTX.  The first 5 pictures are what she looked like in October 2023. So far (since October 1, 2023) she has lost a few pounds and has much more energy!   Bella is a 10-year-old Chiweenie with a sweet disposition and a huge heart. She gets along great with dogs, both large and small… Our only concern is that Bella will need to wear her diaper (and suspenders to keep it on) indefinitely. She has been checked medically for diabetes, Cushing’s, kidney and bladder issues, and had extensive bloodwork… Medically, there is nothing wrong with her, but we can only assume that neurologically she does not understand how to hold her bowel movements because the first 5+ years of her life she lived in an apartment and never went out to potty. The diapers do not bother her and they do not impair her ability to get around easily.   We will keep updating her photos and weight loss progress over time. If you are interested in an older, sweet girl…and don’t mind a few daily diaper changes… please consider adopting Miss Bella Hope!                 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Email:  ddrtxinfo@gmail.com                 Primary Website:  www.DDRTX.org Maylin is a sweet 10 year old girl who was found wondering before the big cold front. She is slightly underweight, but has been getting lots of food and treats so that won’t be an issue much longer. She is potty trained, and knows to go to the door to let you out, but is still learning how to use the doggie door. She also has learned to use potty pads for those wet days or really cold days.   She tends to be a little cold, so she’s enjoying wearing a variety of fleece sweaters. She absolutely loves snuggling next to you and particularly likes to have her ears rubbed. She wants nothing more than to be by your side and she gets along very well with male and female dogs.   You have to be careful when feeding her because she tends to eat her food very fast so slow feeding bowl is a necessity. She is just the sweetest dog and you will not regret giving her a new home.   Maylin is just so sweet.  Someone is going to be lucky when they adopt her!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.
