Story
We are moving overseas for a temporary job and looking to rehome our beloved pup Archie until we return in January 2026. We adopted Archie in 2014 and he's now the most puppy-faced 10-year-old boy you've ever seen (seriously, we still get stopped on the street constantly asking if he's a puppy!). He has been a loyal companion, witnessing our family grow as we married and welcomed two human babies, now ages 6 and 2. Archie is a top-notch snuggler, full of energy on walks, and incredibly patient with little ones. Until very recently he would run his little heart out at the dog park, consistently faster than dogs half his age. Having spent the first year of his life in shelters, however, he does come with some baggage and still experiences separation anxiety. Archie would do best in a home with at least one person home the majority of the time and/or with another dog to keep him company. He is house-trained, but resists the crate. Please consider taking in our special guy!

Story
Batman is a 2-year-old black and rust male with cropped ears and a natural tail. He is a sweet, friendly, loving boy who follows me around wanting to know everything I’m doing. He is very happy, wiggly and loves to give kisses. He enjoys playing with my dogs or is content to play with a toy or chase his tail. He rides well in the car and walks pretty good on a leash. He is very food motivated and picked up on the routine here quickly. He has good house manners although like a lot of dogs he may take food items off counters if the opportunity presents itself. Check his video https://youtu.be/EDhJ4nkCHac?si=g44dVGyWlRpZ-VfV Batman weighs about 60 pounds and has a big personality. He has a good energy level having plenty of energy for play or exercise but also good to relax and hang out. He is crate trained and likes a Kong or chew toy while in there. He is good out of the crate overnight, but is content to be in his crate when I am not home. He has learned to sit for treats. He’s unknown with cats or small children but is good with other dogs. He’s a happy, super cool guy looking for his forever home. Batman is fostered in Virginia. DAR&E adopts to MD, VA, DC, DE, eastern parts of WV and southern parts of PA. Story
Max is a 3 year old, black/rust, docked, natural eared lump of sweetness that weighs in at around 74lbs and has average activity level. Max is a sweet heart that has yet to meet a human he has not liked. He is house trained and spends his time while we are away in his ex pen snoring away. He's learning how to wait to go out of a door until given the okay, he knows sit and down, has started to wait to eat until given the okay and we are working on him giving his paw. He will need solid work in his leash manners. We have never had an issue taking anything away from him and he has had no problems if you approach his bowl while he eats. At night he sleeps on a bed in our room and from day one has just gone with the flow of our routine and has blended right in. In his previous home he lived with four other dogs and a cat. He liked to chase the cat. Max will make sure that you are never alone and will follow you wherever you go. He will lay his head in our lap for love and will look up at you with complete adoration and just wait for you to pay attention to him. He's had baths and nail trims while with us and has done well with both. Max is waiting for a family that will love him for who he is and will help him become the dog he can be. Max is being fostered in Maryland. DAR&E adopts to MD, VA, DC, DE, eastern parts of WV and southern parts of PA. Please check with other Doberman rescues in areas not listed.

Story
Meet Coco! She is a sweet, 9-year-old Blue Doberman. She loves to be anywhere and everywhere that you are! Coco is a healthy girl who weighs about 66 pounds and has a docked tail and natural ears. Coco also has a beautiful full coat of fur. Coco is house trained. She is not a fan of being crated so I have left her with run of the house when I am not home without incident. Coco will whine when I am gone so she would be happiest in a home where someone is around most of the time. Coco enjoys using her nose to explore our yard and loves taking walks in our woods and down our road. Coco may jump around and pull on the leash if she sees a cat or other small animal. Coco gets excited when she sees deer. She also loves to relax and lay in the sun when outside! https://youtu.be/Zcscqwxr1EE?si=Lvbu2x4QHIopaVKA Coco enjoys nibbling on a couple of her favorite plush toys and will usually have one or two with her most of the time. She does like to sleep in our bed, but she tends to stay in her spot and isn’t a bed hog. She also likes to lay next to you on the couch. Coco likes meeting new people, including children, and enjoys getting the extra attention from them. Coco is dog reactive and will need a home without other dogs. Coco is not good with cats. Coco loves to take car rides and will keep watch out the windows for most of the ride. Coco goes with me to my office most mornings. We usually do not see any of my coworkers, but when we do, she enjoys meeting them. Coco is a well-mannered girl who allows me to Dremel her nails, bathe her, and wipe her feet when wet before coming inside the house. If you’re looking for an older, calmer Doberman than Coco would be a great companion for you. She is currently located in Virginia. DAR&E adopts to MD, VA, DC, DE, eastern parts of WV and southern parts of PA. Please check with other Doberman rescues in areas not listed.

Story
Meet Kismet, a beautiful and sleek 1-year old black/tan, cropped male Doberman who is eagerly awaiting his forever home. Kismet is a quick learner and responds well to positive training experiences. Kismet is very smart and curious. Weird fact- Kismet likes to take showers and will stand nicely inside the shower while getting his beauty treatments. He loves to be hugged and petted and has the potential to form a deep bond with his human. Kismet also carries a tender vulnerability, navigating the world with some insecurity that will require understanding and patience from his potential adopter. While Kismet may initially be cautious in new situations and with new people, his sweet nature shines through as he gradually acclimates. Positive reinforcement and gentle guidance will be crucial in helping Kismet feel secure in his surroundings. A calm and consistent approach to training, combined with plenty of reassurance and love, will help him flourish and overcome his past. Kismet will do best in an adult only household. It's important to note that Kismet is still very much a puppy and so is not yet trained. He is working on his basic commands and house training. Kismet’s adopter should be prepared to invest time and effort into training, starting with the fundamentals. He will benefit greatly from the guidance and structure that consistent training provides. He is good with cats and could be ok with another dog with proper introduction. Kismet will be best in an adult only household. If you are ready to open your heart and home to a handsome young boy who needs a little extra support, consider giving this beautiful boy the loving home he deserves and be rewarded by watching him grow to his potential. Kismet is being fostered in MD. DAR&E adopts to MD, VA, DC, DE, eastern parts of WV and southern parts of PA. Please check with other Doberman rescues in areas not listed.
