Story
Hello my name is Enzo! And I am your classic Doberman! I have a high drive and would love to have a job to do! My ideal home would be one that would work on my manners, leash skills, and would be very active. Hiking, running, and maybe even swimming are all things I think would be so fun! Because of my size, energy and drive I think I would be a little too much for small kids and cats. I can be reactive to dogs but I am young and think that with appropriate introductions I could potentially be friends with another dog! If you are an experienced dog owner, maybe even one with breed experience, an active lifestyle and lots of patience and love to give I think we could be the perfect match! Please reach out to my friends at the OSPCA York Region Animal Centre and Humane Society to come and meet me!Yours always, Enzo Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: Black Weight: 31 Age: 1yrs 0mths 3wks

Story
Meet Abby! Typical to her lineage, this beautiful girl is full of energy, and is at her best when she has lots of opportunities to use her brain and move her body. She is currently in a boarding facility and enjoys the company of other dogs, but we feel she might do best as solo dog as she does show signs of possessiveness of her people, and might be happiest not having to share the attention. While she has no issues with the kennel kitty at her current residence, Abby was returned from an adoptive placement as she would give chase the cats in the home. While we feel this may have been due to a need for more stimulation, it may be most ideal to find Abby a pet-free home.Abby does have a few quirks, that we feel only make her more endearing! She has a very toothy bark, which can appear intimidating, but don't let that fool you. Her kindness shows through in her eyes, and she has demonstrated zero signs of aggressive behaviour. She also has a tendency to hover protectively over her food, toys and treats, but has not had any negative reactions to anyone nearby. However, this may be something she needs to work on over time until she understands that her people or other animals are not a threat to the items she values.Abby would benefit greatly from attending obedience classes to strengthen her leash skills and basic manners. She does pull on a traditional leash, but we have found a halti to be an effective way of controlling this. Generally as her excitement and curiosity wanes during her walks, she settles nicely. She is fully house trained, and is fine in the car.Due to her energy level, Abby would benefit from having a fully fenced yard where she can supplement her walks with yard play to keep her in balance. As a very smart girl, she would love challenging games and activities that make her use her brain. If you would like to be considered for Abby, please visit our web site at www.K9C.ca to complete our online application. Only those will be reviewed by our placement team. Please note, our dogs are placed on a "best fit" basis and not first come first served. Due to the high volume of apps we receive, only those deemed to be a potential match will be contacted.

Story
This sweet boy is a social butterfly, always ready to show off his belly for those coveted belly rubs, even with new friends. When it comes to doggy introductions, Bebe is a gentle greeter, preferring to make friends with dogs his size. He is not one for rough play and will politely back away from any four-legged friend showing aggression until things calm down. During his encounters with a curious stray cat, Bebe's sniffometer definitely spikes! But, true to his loyal nature, he listens well to her handler's cues to move along. With moderate energy levels, Bebe loves outdoor adventures but transforms into a calm companion indoors, making him the ideal buddy for any occasion. Resource guarding? Not in Bebe's playbook! He is incredibly easy-going, sharing his treasures without a second thought. Mastering the art of leash walking and the fine technique of car entry and exit, Bebe is quite the clever cookie. Plus, his extensive training means he is fluent in a plethora of commands! While Bebe currently does his business both indoors and outdoors, once he settles into a routine, he’ll happily transition to outdoor potty exclusivity. If you're on the lookout for a tender-hearted and intelligent companion, Bebe is the perfect match for you!
