Story
Curly is a very sweet, but timid 11-month-old boxer mix. A new family will need to understand he’ll probably take 2-3 weeks to become comfortable enough to let his sweet disposition come through. He is house trained, leash trained, and kennel trained. He knows sit and shake, working on down. He is great with kids and has shown no particular interest in cats, so a home with cats can work out. He is an athletic dog, and it is a joy to watch his athleticism in the back yard while chasing balls. Loves toys of all sorts. Would do well in a home with another dog that will be tolerant of a young guy who can be a happy go lucky, goofy knucklehead at times. In fact I think another dog would be best. He will be shy and unsure when meeting a new dog, but just be patient and he’ll warm up fast. Curly really likes the other dogs at his foster home. He does commit random acts of digging in the back yard, nothing too bad and not to get out, just having fun feeling the dirt between his toes. He also has a big shoe fetish, so will pick up shoes. He doesn’t chew them up, instead he carries them around. I believe he does that because his person’s scent is very strong in the shoe. Overall Curly is a good boy who can be that special dog for a family or individual. If you are interested in him, please send an email to SCP! Applications can be found on our website at secondchancepets.org under the "Forms" tab. Please complete and return to us for review! Adoptions are held on Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Clear Lake Petco, 2410 Bay Area Boulevard. All dogs are microchipped, on heartworm protection, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed and treated for fleas. Since all of our dogs are in foster homes, an individual dog may not be at our weekly Adoption Event due to conflict with a foster's schedule. If you are interested in meeting a particular dog, please send an email to scpdogworld@gmail.com so that the Dog Coordinator can let you know if the dog will be at the Saturday Adoption Event at Petco. If you just want to meet some great dogs looking for their forever home, please come visit with us on Saturday! April 18, 2024, 3:07 pm
