Looking for a cat companion to keep you company without much cuddling? Well, look no further. Mayflower was found as an older kitten at a cat colony with no mom or siblings in sight. She is a very independent gal, will coexist with other cats and mellow dogs on but would probably be fine alone with her own person there to feed her and give her toys. It took a year and a half for Mayflowers foster to be able to pet her without food or treats so her adopter must understand it will take time before she will allow petting. Despite her diva behavior she does like to hang out with you by laying next to or near you but never on you. Her foster often refers to her as Maymay the fuzzy muppet because she is quite the character. And just check out her fluffy tail! Mayflower was born around 06/16/2022. Etta was living in the cold in a colony behind a mall in Poughkeepsie where she was proving affectionate and sociable with anyone who fed her. That made her vulnerable! Since she has been with me she had shown herself to be good natured and gentle. She follows me from room to room and loves to spend the night cuddled up next to me in bed. Etta is healthy, happy and warm, but unfortunately she is FeLV positive. Currently, though, Etta is in remission and asymptomatic, which is great news! Asymptomatic FeLV positive cats are not likely to be contagious to other cats. Etta, in her rescuer’s home for a year, has remained healthy! This poor girl has had a struggle but is a beautiful, sweet and loving lady who needs someone willing to take on an FeLV cat or someone looking for a companion for their FeLV cat at home. He has been with the current foster since he was a kitten because he was found to have a congenital heart issue. The vet gave a guarded prognosis as a kitten but for almost 2 years now, he's been thriving at foster home that the foster believes he deserves his very own home. He is currently on one medication that he tolerates well. Crush is will initially hide when a stranger enters the home but once he warms up to you, he is the sweetest cat in the household. He loves to sleep by foster human's feet or loaf right next to them and purr away as he shares his warmth. He is the first to come running when foster mom calls her cats and ask for pets. He has been living all his life with other cats and get along with them very well. He will sleep and cuddle with foster's cats. Because he is a gentle cat, he would do well with any cats who have been around other cats. He loves to play with mice toys, wand toys and often wrestles with other cats. He will not go a day without missing his "tuxie zoomie" where he'd be making chirping noise as he runs around the apartment. Crush is already neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and FIV/FELV negative. Given Crush's personality, a home with other cats would be the best fit for him. All of AdvoCat Rescue's cats and kittens are fostered in private homes.
