Story
Gypsy is playful, enjoys catnip toys, sparkle balls, teaser wands and feathers. She appreciates places to hide and enjoys napping at the top of a cat tower. Gypsy gets a charge out of being in a Catio (enclosed patio for cats) where she can watch the birds and chase bugs. Gypsy came to Friends of Jackson County rescue traumatized when discovered on an interstate ramp. Her post traumatic symptoms are fearfulness and interacting with people. Gypsy does not like to be held, confined or being put in a trapped situation. In a stable home with routines and a respect for her fear, Gypsy is a perfectly pleasant house cat. She needs stability, space and her human companion to respect her boundaries and limitations. Gypsy will be dependent on you to take care of her. Her ideal home is with adult people, preferably someone who is experienced with cats and is capable of continuing to work with her and follow her care and training plan to continue positive progress. Gypsy must be an inside kitty only. She is very social towards other cats and gentle with kittens. It would be in Gypsy's favor if she was adopted with another cat that she pals around with; recommendation can be provided. A home with no dogs is preferred. Gypsy is 1 year old with a black medium length coat. Friends of Jackson County Animal Shelter Pets (FJCASP) is a foster-based rescue for dogs and cats. She gets along with male cats and small to medium-size cat-friendly dogs. Tuela is 1 year old, has a medium length coat with a tortoiseshell pattern and round eloquent eyes. Story
Josephine is sassy, saucy and brassy but she is a doll! She goes for basking in the sun, lounging on a cat tree and feasting on lickable cat treats. Josephine is shy and apprehensive with new people and new places but with love, patience and plenty of lickable treats she should be confident quickly. Her ideal home is with an individual, couple or family with older children. A home that is quiet and calm. Josephine would do best in a home with a feline friend or with her kitten Theo or adopted kitten Dixie. She will be fine with a cat-friendly dog that is mature and has a tranquil demeanor. A slow introduction to any new pets is needed. Josephine is 1-year-old with a blue medium length coat. She has a semi-cobby body with big round eyes that are bright and full of color. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Hi, my name is Uno.I am about 3 years old.  I am a total lap cat, love-bug, cuddle-bug.  I need lots of petting :-) If you have a stick & string toy to play with me I am almost tireless playing with you. I like having a small basket for my toys.  I also play fetch where I bring you a toy and want you to throw it so I can catch or go after it.I love to sit in a sunny window where I can watch the birds, squirrels, people, and the leaves blowing around in the wind.  Really like sitting at a screen door so I can sniff the world outside.I grew up with a female cat and we played together every day. Not sure if I am dog friendly, I haven't been around any.  Not sure how being around young kids would be, but I am a loving kitty not aggressive.  I prefer a home where I get lots and lots of petting and cuddles.  At night I like to sleep by your feet or stretched out alongside you. I am shy around new people, so be patient with me until we get to know each other.I come with a big reusable bag full of some of my favorite things:- new plush fluffy bed  (and a spare bed)- some of my favorite toys (all brand new)- some of my favorite treats- new food and water bowls too- some wet food for evening treats.  I am accustomed to having dry food in a bowl to free feed throughout the day.  You can see that I watch my figure closely.  I am sensitive about dry food, Iams for Indoor kitty is the cheapest food that seems to work best with my tummy, otherwise Hills Science Diet for indoor cat is better. My previous mom had to give me and my sister up so that she could go take care of her aging and declining parents but unfortunately we could not go with her.She hopes that someone really sweet and gentle will give me a new loving home. By adopting me today you will save the life of two pets -- you'll save me and that will make room for the Shelter to rescue and save another pet.

Story
Magnum came from a high kill shelter. He has been with our rescue fro a couple months and has done really well. He is good with a few other cats, too many can overwhelm him. He is great with being picked up for short periods and is a cuddle bug! Magnum is FIV+. "Casual, non-aggressive contact, such as sharing water bowls or mutual grooming, does not appear to be an efficient route of spreading the virus. As a result, cats in households with stable social structures where housemates do not fight are at little risk of acquiring FIV infections." Read more here: https://www.vet.cornell.edu/departments-centers-and-institutes/cornell-feline-health-center/health-information/feline-health-topics/feline-immunodeficiency-virus-fiv For Pet's Sake Rescue is a Mississippi based rescue. All animals are currently in MS. Mississippi is overpopulated with too many animals, not enough adopters, and many high kill shelters. For Pet's Sake Rescue saves each animal from a different background.  ***Breed input is required for each platform but is not guaranteed to be accurate. We do not DNA test. We rescue animals from different situations. We discuss breed assignments with our vets to label them as accurately as possible.*** For Pet's Sake Rescue transports animals to other states for better adoption potential. Our goal is to keep animals alive and out of kennels into their forever homes as quickly as possible. Each animal is quarantined and vetted during their time in our care. Each adopted pet is spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and has current flea treatment unless otherwise noted.  You can visit our website at www.forpetssakerescue.org for our full adoption process and adoption application. Once we review your application and check your vet reference, we will contact you to proceed. If both parties agree to the adoption, we will send you an Adoption Contract with an invoice. Once the invoice is paid, your pet is "on hold" for you to pick up or we can transport the pet to a designated location closer to you via transport. Transports are arranged for specific dates. We will discuss these dates and locations with you during the initial phone call.  We are currently unable to adopt pets to ME and RI residents. Any of our adoptable animals can be transported unless otherwise noted in their profile. View all of our adopted animals at www.forpetssakerescue.org   ##1948881##
