Story
Talula is an 11 month-old orange tabby with a penchant for play and an affinity for affection.  This prim and proper lady is a glutton for attention, unabashed in vocally chirping for it (politely, of course). She is initially shy around new people and takes a few days to warm up, but once trust is established she is a friend for life. Talula is not a picky eater.  She will glady eat both wet and dry food, and is way into treats.  She also has no problem using the litter box.   She comes out of her shell a bit when around other cats, and would do well in a home with multiple. Talula is up to date on shots, FeLV / FIV negative, spayed, and microchipped.  To apply for Talula, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the animal is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable cat, or final size of any of our adoptable kittens. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the cat into our rescue. Adoptions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org ##1961511##

Story
Mumu is a 5-month-old, 5-pound male kitten who was rescued from the streets of Brooklyn.  First of all, how do you resist that blep? Mumu is a shy little guy who is looking for a cat-savvy parent (or parents) who will be patient with him to gain his trust.  Mumu is not a fan of strangers (which I can relate!) but once he has decided to trust you, you will be rewarded with endless purring! When Mumu first arrived at his foster home, he was so scared and wouldn't eat or move for 2 days. It only took him a week to open up and now he will happily greet his foster mom at the door and ask for scratches! Mumu is a typical kitten who loves to eat and play. He has a big appetite. His favorite toy is anything that gets him running (think feather wand, balls, springs). He also loves hanging out with his foster siblings and must go to a home with another friendly cat who can keep him company. Mumu doesn't mind being picked up and held, as long as you reward him with scratches! Vaccinated for FVRCP and rabies. FeLV/FIV negative, microchipped and neutered. To apply, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. Story
*Shadow has been in foster since 9/2023!* Shadow is a 1-year-old, 7-pound male cat from the NYCACC.  If you're looking for a funny new friend who will chat all evening and keep you smiling, this is your man! Shadow loves people and other cats and just wants to be everyone's friend. He has a special way of moving about due to a neurological condition, but this doesn't slow him down at all! He is friendly and outgoing with his foster siblings, and he'd love a couple of best budds to enjoy life with. Shadow doesn't think he's different from any other kitty. He's just a happy, goofy dude who loves food, family, and fluffy beds.  Shadow's neurological condition appears stable and has caused no health issues or discomfort. Sometimes called "wobbly cat syndrome," his condition causes balance and coordination issues as well as some hind limb weakness, so he tends to stumble and trip quite a bit. But don't worry--he's independent and gets around just fine. He's been working on gaining weight and building muscle in his foster home, as he atrophied a bit while in the city shelter, and he is improving every day. He's very mobile on carpeted surfaces and has been working on litter box etiquette with handicap accessible boxes. He prefers to use wee wee pads. His wiggling and swaggering are so endearing, especially when he's "hunting" his favorite toys!  Shadow is a vocal cat who likes to "talk" to his foster parents. If he thinks he's not getting enough attention, he'll yell at his humans and scramble over as if to say "Excuse me!" He always wants to be the star of the show. While he can get a bit frisky and overstimulated during playtime, he is extremely docile to handle. Pick him up, give him a cuddle, or clip his nails--Shadow will be the perfect gentleman.  Shadow is looking for a friendly, understanding family to love him for who he is and help him reach his full potential. He's a very special kitty with so much spirit and so much love to give. Shadow loves other cats and ideally should have another feline friend at home.  Vaccinated for FVRCP and rabies, FeLV / FIV negative, neutered, and microchipped. To apply for Charlie, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. Flash is a super cute and playful 5 month old tuxedo kitten originally from the NYCACC. He can turn any object into a toy and when he’s not jumping around he can be found laying on his fosters lap. Story
Meet Miss Katarina (Katya for short). Katerina is a 2-year-old, 6-pound female cat from the TOH shelter.  She came to us from a shelter in Long Island with a hard past. She was adopted to a temporary forever home and resurrendered with a bad infected eye and a distrust for people. We are unsure what happened but we’re more than happy to take her back and nurture her back to a healthy life. After returning to the shelter and coming back into foster care she is thriving and doing significantly better. In addition to her lone eye, she does have several missing teeth which make her tongue her favorite accessory. She will normally always have it on display and it is absolutely hilarious. She is sweet and shy but loves a good belly rub. She is flirty and docile and will always roll over to let you know she is ready for a good cuddle. She is very shy to start and isn’t too much of a lap cat, especially when you first meet her, but she is definitely curious and friendly. She will lay next to you or behind you on the back of the couch and watch TV with you. She also loves a good nap. If she bats at you or kicks your hands away, don’t worry! She is just setting a boundary with you or is being playful. She loves wand and catnip toys and will keep herself entertained. When petting her around the face, be sure she can see your hand first, she gets a little spooked when you pet her in her blind spot. Katya would do well in a home solo or with another adult or senior cat. She gets along with other animals but prefers a more laid back companion as hyper friends tend to annoy her. Vaccinated for FVRCP and rabies, Neutered, FeLV / FIV negative, and microchipped. To apply for Katerina, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. Story
Hi, I’m Thorfinn, a ten-month-old male kitten (as of April 2023, but 5 mos when my pics were taken). I’m an equally snuggly and playful kitty, looking for my forever home. I love being active - whether that’s playtime with my foster kitty siblings (like my twin Sasappis) or my toys. I love toys of all kinds and can’t wait to show off my chasing and pouncing skills. After a hard day of play, there’s nothing I want more than to cuddle up with my people on the couch or in bed. I do well around other cats and dogs and am very people-oriented and social, making friends instantly. I’ll come to your home litter box trained, neutered, FIV/FeLV negative, and with all age-appropriate vaccinations. If I sound like the purrfect addition to your home, email rockcityrescue@gmail.com with your name and phone number.March 18, 2024, 3:35 pm

Story
Bruno is a handsome and approximately 1-year-old (as of April 2023) cat that we all certainly need to talk about!   Not only does he have stunning eyes, a shiny coal-black coat with striking tabby markings underneath.  His body type is very slim and exotic akin to a Siamese.  He is a sweet-tempered soul with a playful personality and loves mealtimes, treats, playing hard, and sleeping on soft blankets or the cat tree.  He is a gentle soul who plays well with other kittens and gets along with adult cats in that he does not tend to pester them.  This boy plays independently quite well, but I think he would certainly enjoy a younger or active adult cat to tussle with if not a cat/kitten around his age. He can be a little shy with strangers and mostly gives his affection to people he trusts.  I believe he will blossom in an environment that will be patient with him.  He comes to you litter box trained, neutered, FIV/FeLV negative, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations so contact Rock City Rescue to adopt this unique boy.March 18, 2024, 3:35 pm

Story
Persimmon is approximately 1-year-old of April 2023 whose shiny coal-black coat really stands out in a crowd!  He is a sweet-tempered and sensitive type who was scared of his new surroundings at first but within the span of 2-3 weeks, he was all over the house and coming around his foster mom for attention and scratches by his tail.  Lately, he has with the cold weather he has become quite the snuggle bug wanting to lay on his person's lap with his favorite foster sister almost every time she sits down.  He hasn’t been around dogs very much but I believe with a proper introduction of a friendly dog and lots of patience, it should not be a problem.  In addition, he gets along well with other cats both young and adults.  He would certainly enjoy a similar-aged or friendly adult cat to tussle with as he enjoys spirited playtime with his foster siblings, but he also plays independently quite well.  He comes to you litter box trained, neutered, FIV/FeLV negative, and with all age-appropriate vaccinations so contact Rock City Rescue to adopt this dashing young man!March 18, 2024, 3:35 pm

Story
Hi, I’m Cortado, a striking 1-year-old (as of April 2023) boy. I started my life on the streets but just like a hot cortado, I am warming up to life as an inside kitty. I recently discovered how nice nighttime snuggles with the hoomans are! I love to play with my brothers, especially hide and pounce in the cat tunnel and chase toys that make noise. I love to be around kids and am great with other kitties and dogs once I get comfortable. Best of all, I’ll come to your home litter box trained, neutered, FIV/FeLV negative, and with all age-appropriate vaccinations. Story
Lily is a sweet and shy six-year-old cat; she loves being the center of attention. She is very quiet but loves to chase teaser toys with feathers. She takes a nap most days but can be energetic and loves chasing me around my apartment. Before I adopted Lily, she was a stray cat in a shelter. Lily is a perfect cat, unfortunately, I can not take care of her due to a family illness. I would love to rehome her with an experienced pet owner, but I will consider other options. I might have to take Lily back to the shelter; she would thrive with a family with NO OTHER PETS.
