Story
This is Pip! She was born 03/01/2023 so she’s one year old. She’s very petite for her age. First two pictures are of her now and the last one was when she was a kitten. My grandparents cat had an accidental litter and she was given to us since they couldn’t find a home because of her fear of people. A couple days after bringing her home we found out we were expecting but wanted to try to work with her anyways. Because of lack of funds we haven’t taken her for a vet visit. We have another cat in our house that she adores and a dog that she tolerates. Since bringing our baby home she’s been incredibly stressed and spends all day hiding. She’s gotten better with people and will walk up for pets now but generally tries to avoid us. Ideally we think she’d do best in a home that’s not so chaotic with a kitty friend. If you had a calm dog that would be ideal. She’s never scratched any furniture, litter box trained, and has the potential with the right person to be a love bug I know it.

Story
Meet Zinc, she is a little over 2yrs, spayed female. Zinc was abandoned at our clinic with her 4 teen kittens. Our wonderful clinic jumped into action and had them stay there, as our shelter was full and didn't have space for 5 adult cats. Zinc's babies have all been adopted, but our Zinc remains. When she arrived she was not very social, she hated living with multiple cats and did not really want affection from humans. Now that all her adult kids are gone and she is now sharing space with 2 cats, Agee and Jolene, she has come out of her shell. We have found she loves men, especially one of our amazing volunteers Bob. She would love a quieter home, no dogs and no young children. She likes cats who don't get in her face and close to her age or older and are independent like her. She would love someone patient and that is okay with her being up high, she loves to be up high and watch the room and activities. She just needs someone who is ready to open their heart and give her a chance, are you that person? Reduced adoption fee, Thank you Susan for you kind donation towards Zinc's adoption fee. My adoption fee is $70: This includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccines, microchip, dewormer, flea treatment and a 1 pound bag of food they are currently *** You don't need an appointment to visit our cats, here is what you need to know: 1. Cats are avaible to visit Thursday-Saturday 10am-3:30pm. 2. Proof of home ownership must be brought with you, i.e a mortgage statement or property tax or home owners insurance 3. If you are a renter, you must have a letter from your landlord stating you can have a cat, pet policy and or pet agreement are not sufficient. 4. Debit/Credit or cash for adoption 5. Cat carrier, we have card board ones for $5 6. You can place a hold on a cat, due to people not returning we will be charging $25 to hold, this will be taken off your adoption fee.

***Available to meet by appointment only, please e-mail us at shelter@hbpets.org or reply on Petfinder, Adopt-A-Pet or rescue.org*** **They are not on site** Bonded pair, Jackie and Florence, would do best being adopted together. While the girls have come so far, they both stay close to each other and sleep together at night*** Meet our track stars, Carl Lewis, Jackie Joyner-Kersee and Florance Griffith Joyner aka Flo-Jo. This 3 litter mates, are all spayed/neutered, approx 8mths old. These three were transfers from another Oregon county shelter, they needed more TLC then they could offer. These three arrived, so scared and shy. We knew they needed our amazing foster mom Amber, so after they finished quarantine and got spayed/neutered they went to Amber's. With Amber's magical ability to be patient and give these kittens exactly what they needed, they have now come aorund and are ready for their new homes. Carl is the social butterfly of the three, the girls are more shy, all three love to play, get affection and occasionally snuggle up with you. They have been aorund cats and children. My adoption fee is $200 for bonded pair ($100 each): This included spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccines, microchip, dewormer, flea treatment and a 1 pound bag of food.

Story
Meet Maxine, a resilient cat who faced a challenging start in life, but with the support of her foster mom, she transformed into a wonderful feline friend. Max's early days were tough, but her foster mom showered her with love and care, turning her life around and providing a warm and nurturing environment. Possessing the typical independent nature of cats, Max displayed a mind of her own, exploring her surroundings with curiosity and a hint of mischief. Despite her independent streak, Max had a sweet side, surprising everyone by transforming into a snuggle bug when the mood struck, showcasing her affectionate and loving nature. Max's journey from a rough beginning to a delightful and loving cat is a testament to the transformative power of care and compassion in the lives of our furry friends. This cat can only be adopted in the state of Texas and has an adoption fee of $150.
