Story
🐾BRUTUS🖤 Brutus is a 1.5 year old Dutch Shepherd/Lab mix according to his embark testing! He’s a big cuddly goofball and loves to make his humans laugh! 🥰 This lanky boy is very smart and loves to do training/learn new things and keep his brain busy, which makes sense with his awesome breed mix! He’s very affectionate and loves to follow his person around and cuddle. He rides great in the car and is fully crate and housetrained. 💯 Brutus is a great swimmer and loves to play fetch in the water, his foster is currently training him for dock diving! Despite being very active and having lots of energy he has a great off switch, too. He can get excited very easily and has some manners that need work but his foster mama is having so much fun training him & he’s learning quickly. 🐶 If you’re interested in dog sports, Brutus would be a great match for you! Especially if you’re a beginner - he is so eager to learn and please.🥰 For his forever family, Brutus is seeking an active home with someone who is willing to keep up with his training and give him plenty of exercise. He thrives when staying active both physically and mentally. He does great with all sizes of dogs & older kids. He is a very social boy and would do great with some dog friends in his home! 🏡 Does Brutus sound like the adventure buddy you’ve been looking for? 🫶🏼 If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN RHODE ISLAND AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. Story
Poppy and her siblings were being given away on the side of the road for free. One of our southern rescuers became aware of this situation and immediately rescued them so they would not end up in the wrong hands. We believe her to be Dutch Shepard/Hound mix. She is a typical 6 month old puppy. She has not met a toy(or treat) she doesn't like. She is learning basic commands. She is crate trained and 99% housebroken. She is 40lbs, so we think they she going to be a bigger dog.Poppy is in a New England foster home and doing just great!Poppy is very outgoing and spirited, she would do best with a dog who can match her energetic play style. She has never met a stranger she didn't like. She will bring you her toys and make you play with her. She has absolutely no concept of personal space and wants to be as close to you as possible....but that's ok with us!!!Poppy has also been cat tested and doesn't bother the kitties one bit!Poppy would love a family that is committed to a puppy and looking forward to giving her the training and TLC so she can grow into a truly amazing dog!If you are ready for a great new addition apply today!Name: Poppy PupBreed: Lab Mix/Plott Hound (possibly)Sex: FemaleAge: 6 months Weight: 40pounds Spayed/Neutered: Too young - Spay/Neuter Contract will be required and strictly enforcedVaccinations:   Puppy vaccines will be up to date - all vaccinations required after adoption are responsibility of adopter.Heartworm: Too young (testing is done at 6 months of age)Housetrained:  Almost thereMicrochipped: YesLocation of dog currently:  New EnglandPuppy Adoption Fee:  $550.00 (includes spay/neuter surgery rebate of up to $200.00 to be paid to adopter when proof of spay/neuter is provided to Paws New England.   We can provide a list of low costs SN clinics to adopters when requested. Adoption fee also includes transport fee.ATTENTION PUPPY ADOPTERS:  You will be required to attend training/behavior classes with your new dog unless you are experienced dog owners and your adoption coordinator is comfortable with your experience.  This requirement is for the benefit of you and your puppy so if you experience behavior issues you have a point of contact.  PLEASE - Think long and hard before adopting a puppy - consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with - he cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours at a time until he's older, puppy proofing your home will be necessary, puppies scratch and nip so if you have small children, can they handle this?? Training will be so important in this puppy's life, do you have the time??Please consider purchasing this book before adopting.  Perfect Puppy in 7 Days - How to Start Your Puppy Off Right, Sophia Yin, DVM - it is an amazing book that we recommend very highly and have had amazing feedback on.https://www.amazon.com/Perfect-Puppy-Days-Start-Right/dp/0964151871IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. Story
ALL our cats and dogs are in the NY area but can be adopted out of state to the purrfect furever home.  In some cases, we can help transport.  Zani's al fresco Summer Adoptions  follow us on FB to find us this summer as we will try new locations to meet the needs of NYC and support the little stores:)       Flynn is an amazing 5 month old brindle mix straight from Arkansas. He is super sweet and very smart. He has quickly picked up using a dog door and is working hard to sit and stay on command. Flynn is almost crate trained  He is being trained not to jump when greeted as we think he will be quite a big boy. He loves to cuddle with all humans including children and is very treat motivated. He is good with other dogs. He has not met any cats yet. Flynn has some energy but in comparison to other puppies he is very content relaxed.      All dogs are located in NY/NJ areaAll our puppies need puppy play dates/doggy facetime so we recommend homes with other pups or daily interactions to keep them tired out, happy and social.     Facebook: Zani's Furry Friends ZFF (weekly adoption event info posted there) Twitter: zanisff  Instagram: zanisfurryfriends   Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, Rabies vaxed, and microchipped (not Lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it!)  All are in the NY/NJ area but we will adopt out of state to the purrfect home and in some cases, we can arrange transport.  Please go to our site  https://zanisfurryfriends.org  fill out an application  Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent--please ask by writing us at dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application early Friday so that we can be sure to be there. Otherwise we decide based on other variables. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too.   Please consider providing a home for more than one dog, especially if you are considering adopting a puppy. Dogs are pack animals and very much enjoy as well as need other dog company to learn to play, socialize and be good companion animals to people. The upside to this is that you won't feel as guilty leaving them alone and you get twice the love. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer, and you can always donate! If you want to know about cats/dogs specifically being shown at our adoption locations, please email us info@zanisfurryfriends.org closer to the date so we know your interest and will make every effort to have that pet at the event or let you know how and where you can meet.  It is extemely helpful and speeds up adoption if the application is filled out prior to visiting us so please do that before coming to our weekend events. Our weekend locations are: Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent  Follow us on FB, Zani's Furry Friends ZFF, for latest updates. Usually we are in our foster homes so all this is a bit more stressful but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer. And you can always donate:) Cats and Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD w/ all age appropriate shots and microchipped. Cats are feline combo tested for FIV/FeLV; dogs are heartworm tested and rabies vax'd, (NOT lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it); rabbits are spayed/neutered. Please fill out an application and email to: For Cats: cats@zanisfurryfriends.org For Dogs: dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org For Rabbits: nyc.acc.rabbits@gmail.com. Please visit our website zanisfurryfriends.org.

To adopt please fill out an adoption application. Friendly, happy, well-socialized! Murphy is a 6mo male Dutch Shepherd mix who was rescued as a stray in Memphis.  Good with other dogs and living comfortably with another dog in his foster home (see video).  Not yet cat tested. Great with kids and recommended for children 6 years and older just because of his exuberance.  Medium energy level outside, quiet and well-mannered in the house.  Crate trained and housebroken. Learning basic commands.  Loves to be with his people.  Good on a leash, rides great in the car.  Healthy and fully vetted, current on shots, neutered, weighs about 40 pounds.  Murphy has an occasional limp L rear leg which vet attributes to an old, healed injury but it doesn’t impact his mobility at all. This is an AWESOME young shepherd mix will make a wonderful companion  for an active family who loves the breed.
