To adopt please fill out an adoption application. Friendly, happy, well-socialized! Murphy is a 6mo male Dutch Shepherd mix who was rescued as a stray in Memphis.  Good with other dogs and living comfortably with another dog in his foster home (see video).  Not yet cat tested. Great with kids and recommended for children 6 years and older just because of his exuberance.  Medium energy level outside, quiet and well-mannered in the house.  Crate trained and housebroken. Learning basic commands.  Loves to be with his people.  Good on a leash, rides great in the car.  Healthy and fully vetted, current on shots, neutered, weighs about 40 pounds.  Murphy has an occasional limp L rear leg which vet attributes to an old, healed injury but it doesn’t impact his mobility at all. This is an AWESOME young shepherd mix will make a wonderful companion  for an active family who loves the breed. Story
Shadow is an approximately 2 year old female Dutch Shepherd mix who weighs 48 lbs. Shadow is good with other dogs and older kids but no cats for this sweet baby. She’s housebroken and crate trained. Shadow came from an abusive home but she learned to trust again and is ready to show just how lovable she is. She’s good on a leash but sometimes she needs a little encouragement. Shadow would love a family who can continue to show her the love and trust she deserves! Shadow is spayed, fully vetted, heartworm negative and microchipped. **IMPORTANT ADOPTION INFORMATION** -ALL dogs are fostered in Mississippi unless otherwise noted. -We do transport dogs to the east coast. Cooper is a young adult dog with a very sweet, happy and friendly temperament. Cooper wouldn't have any problem adapting to any family lifestyle. He loves to play with kids and or other dogs; however, he would be just as happy watching TV with you all day (a real couch potato). Story
Meet Kiwi, a beautiful 1-2 year old spayed female Dutch Shepherd mix!  Kiwi is the loving mama of the Fruit Litter (Fig, Cherry, and Guava) and, like a kiwifruit, she is sweet as can be!  She is a medium sized dog weighing about 40-45 lbs.  She is good with other dogs and all people, including kids.  She has not been cat tested, so we are unsure how she would do with cats. Kiwi is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained. She loves to hang with her foster dad watching TV and also loves to look out the window and watch the birds and people walking by.  She is currently being fostered in CT and she can't wait to meet you!  ##2004166##

Story
Meet Fig, a darling 11 week old female Dutch Shepherd/Aussie Cattle Dog mix!  Fig and her siblings were rescued in TN and are making their way up north along with mama Kiwi to find their furever homes!  She currently weighs about 10 lbs and is expected to grow to a medium sized dog.  She is a typical happy, playful puppy who is good with everyone - dogs, cats, people, and kids.  She is working on housebreaking and crate training and learning how to be the best doggo! Fig is a little miracle pup who overcame a scary emergency situation when she was diagnosed with pulmonary edema (fluid in the lungs) shortly after arriving in her TN foster home.  She spent a few nights in the University of Tennessee vet hospital on critical care, and was touch and go for a bit, truly fighting for her life.  After multiple rounds of oxygen and mechancial ventilation, this little fighter finally started to improve, and was released back to her relieved foster dad, where she returned to her mom and siblings.  Fig is now back to her normal self and has a clean bill of health and the rest of her life ahead of her! Fig is fostered in a loving CT foster home and can't wait for her furever family!  ##2004176##

Story
Stella established herself as a goofy, friendly dog almost immediately upon arriving at TJO. She is friendly, enjoys attention from humans and completely believes that BALL IS LIFE. She is waiting for a supportive, experienced owner who will help her have adventures and live her best life.OTHER PETS: Stella should not live with cats or smaller dogs; she would likely get along with a confident, larger dog but as with all our adoptions Stella should meet any dogs she would be living with prior to adoption. [Case-By-Case (NO CATS, NO SMALL DOGS) (Must Meet First)] OWNER EXPERIENCE: Stella's best fit would be with someone who has experience with GSDs or other breeds that are smart enough to get themselves into trouble if unengaged in something. Stella will need the support of her owner while she goes through training and learns her behavorial expectations, it may be exceptionally overwhelming for someone who has no experience. [Very Experienced] KIDS: Stella is still in her rambunctious puppy phase and we are unsure how she would respond to small humans. Her best fit would be with teens who will be supportive of the training Stella will be going through. [15+ Must Meet First]ACTIVITY LEVEL: Stella has a lot of energy and also needs to be mentally engaged during her days. She would do best with multiple longer walks daily, and with support and training could do any number of dog sports like agility, flyball, lure coursing, dock diving, etc. She LOVES playing with balls of all sizes, and would love supervised playtime in a fenced yard, also a good way to keep her mentally and physically engaged. Further specialized training would open even more activity doors for Stella to explore. [Olympic Athlete]VETERINARY CARE: [Routine] GROOMING: [Routine Brushing] LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED: Positive reinforcement training will help Stella bond with her now owner, as well as increasing her confidence and ensuring she knows her basic commands and behavorial expectations. Stella has a lot of potential; she's starting at the bottom and would love an owner who supported her throughout her entire journey to the top. [Intense]April 24, 2024, 2:07 pm
